main site updated, subsite shows upadates available

Hello to all,
I just made all my updates on my wordpress MU, plugins and theme.

It looks ok, but when I log in as admin to a subsite, it tells me I’ll have to do 9 more updates in the Admin menu at the top.

If I click on the update link, I’m sent back to site 1 (normal) but everything is up to date.

An idea ? Thanks for your lights.

Pointing to another WPMU database

I have a website whose directory has been deleted. I reinstalled wordpress with my hosting provider panel which requires the name of a new database so that I cannot put the name of the existing db.

So it’s only afterwards I changed the name of the database and prefix in wp-config. But I got this message:

Error establishing a database connection

I don’t understand why it doesn’t work ?

Copy subsite to main site

I’m using multisite on my wordpress installation. The primary site ended up not being the main site for everything I wanted to do. I am wanting to move the content from one of my subsites to the main site to shorten the url.

Most of my searches on this matter deal with copying the main site to the subsite, which I don’t want! I can’t delete the main site because it is the primary site, therefore, I want to move a subsite into the primary site.

How do I do this?

Hello I was hoping someone might be able to help me.

I’ve been hosting my own www.remarpro.com blog for quite a few years on my purchased webspace and domain name (e.g. www.mywebspace.com).

This first blog is located at (e.g www.mywebspace.com/blog)

However, i’ve now created a secondary blog using WordPressMU and it seems to be working fine so far.

The website address of my secondary blog is (e.g. www.mywebspace.com/blog/secondaryblog)

My question is:- I recently purchased a domain name (with no webspace) which i would like to use instead of my secondary website address.

How would I manage to change the website address from www.mywebspace.com/blog/secondaryblog to www.mynewcooldomain.com).

Would I do this as normal in the control panel of my newly purchased domain name web adddress? Or would i need to change settings in my WordPressMU Dashboard?

Any help would be much appreciated. I’ve been searching for days on a solution, and am unsure about using Domain Mapper plugin etc.. as my blog is not located in the root folder.

Maybe this isn’t necessary for what i’m trying to achieve.

Once again i simply want to link my secondary blog address which is currently e.g
www.mywebspace.com/blog/secondaryblog to www.mynewcooldomain.com (which i purchased).

Zedity & WPMU & Commons in the box BUG [solved]

Hello,

I had an issue with a fresh install of wordpress MU + Commons in the box.
If you activate Zedity for network, you get a bug that prevent you from getting to your admin panel anymore !!

Once you delete the folder of the theme in plugin, you get access to the admin panel again.

Then i tryed to reinstall Zedity but i activated it directly from the site

without activating it from network

& it worked…

problem when using multilingual domain as a primary one

Last time we have sucessfully mapped the multilingual domain name at a Windows 2008 server, but this time when we using this plugin at a CentOS Linux server and try to open the site, chrome prompted:
This page contains a redirect loop.

We are sure have set the punycode domain correctly and this problem only happen with multilingual domain not with a letter based domain.

I mean there is a problem when using multilingual domain as a primary one.

And now I found the very strange thing that I can not visit the site using multilingual domain as a primary domain at the time of new setting up, but hours or days later it seemed run ok.

Anyone can give me some help?

Changed server, now some links do not work

I just moved a client site from one server to another. The domain stayed the same, and the transfer was pretty painless. After the transfer, The WordPress portion of the site works mostly, but there are some quirks. A user can go to his/her blog and see the intro to each blog and choose to open the whole entry by clicking on the title. The link takes the user back to the site home page. The pagination does the same thing, page numbers are displayed, but clicking takes you back to the site home page.

Looking through the code, it looks as the get_permalink() function is returning a null, but I can see no reason for it. The site performed well before the transfer. I have searched the entire site for the old server path and made sure all are now correct for the new server.

Any ideas? I have searched the web and the forums…
