First of all I’d like thank you all for reading this topic. You’re terrific audience.
I’m developing CakePHP application and there is WordPress page which stores users data. I’d like to use those users in my application so they don’t need to register nor login twice.
We’re trying to use is_user_logged_in(), but there is a problem with cookies. My application sends CURL request to check if user is logged, so user will receive only data which he needs. WordPress uses cookies to identify if user is logged in. My application doesn’t have access to them because it is on other domain. And I’d like to avoid making hacks to bring WordPress cookies to my application server to pass them to WordPress.
What a terrific audience.
Effect that I’m trying to achieve is something similar to “Login with Facebook”.
So is there any other way to make it possible, through browser session ID or some plugin?
Thank you for reading this
Basically, I am about to cut up a template for a client, however they specifically mention that the site must comply with the EU Cookie Law.
Their site will be fully powered by WordPress and they will have a news section on one page and a contact form. Users can’t post comments to any articles/news features. As far as I am aware, the site will not collect any user tracking information and will have no ads on it. This site will be purely informational for the user.
Does this law still apply? If so, what cookies are there on WordPress that the user receives?
