How Do I switch my WP.com Site to .org?

I was wondering is there is a way I can transfer my WordPress.COM site (gpgolfreport.com) to www.remarpro.com?

I want to do so so I can have more tools to use to build the site up.

Problem importing WordPress.com xml files

My blog at wordpress.com is https://theassistant.wordpress.com. Today I set up a hosted domain www.dishondesigngal.com on my server and installed www.remarpro.com. I exported the xml files to my desktop and then tried to import them to my .org site at dishondesigngal.com but they will not import correctly. The tags import, 10% or less of media was important along with all of my categories – but zero posts imported. Additionally, none of these things show up on the new blog page. My server help desk un-installed what I did and tried it on their own, but the files still won’t import correctly.

I changed my theme at wordpress.com to match twenty eleven, but that didn’t help. I went back to the original theme comet for now. We made sure the index file was re-named, that didn’t help. My server increased the file size and memory – both are sufficient. After hours of trying to figure this out, I am at a loss. Any suggestions? ugh! Thanks!

Import XML leads to 404 page – not working.

Hi there,

I exported everything from my WordPress.com blog into the xml file. When I try to upload this xml file to my new www.remarpro.com site, it seems to work at first, but then leads to a 404 page.

It lets me select the author to be assigned to posts and to download attachments, it’s after that that it doesn’t work.

When I check later, there are no posts, pages downloaded – however, I see a few images from my WordPress.com site that were transferred, that’s it.

Any ideas?

Moving from com to org – incomplete – help!

I paid a Elance company to migrate my blog from wordpress.com to www.remarpro.com. They didn’t complete the job and I’m really stuck.

I seem to now have 2 versions of my blog – one at beyondcougar.wordpress.com and another at beyondcougar.com. I just want to run the second one. Also, not all of my blog comments have copied over.

I don’t know how I go about closing off the first and repointing the wordpress.com domain to the new URL. I’m a real novice at this so I need help in the most simple language possible. If I knew what to do, I could probably figure things out, but I need someone to tell me my next steps, please!

I have just signed up with Blue Host and followed the simple script instuction to transfer the .com blog. I received an email with the new log in admin address but it when i clicked on it I was taken back to the .com sign in. I also did the export/import.

Any help would be appreciated.

Having trouble with migrating old posts

Hi there. I’ve been blogging at wanderingjustin.wordpress.com and decided to go self-hosted at wanderingjustin.com. I wanted to migrate all my old posts so the new site wouldn’t look so barren. I followed the steps about exporting, saving to the desktop and uploading to the new site.

When I’m done, WordPress tells me “All Done: Have Fun.” When I click the link, though, I’m not seeing my old posts.

The XML file, by the way, is only 995 bytes. Any suggestions?

Hello,
So first off. I’ve had a blog for over a year on the address https://tootootbeepbeep.wordpress.com/ then I decided to get a simpler domain name (https://www.dangerdanger.org), so I routed it from there to the wordpress address.The domain name is located through some finnish company and not through hostmonster. Anyway, now I want to self-host this blog and I got server space on Hostmonster.com, installed the www.remarpro.com platform (somewhere) through the dangerdanger.org domain with the Fantastico thingy that is on the cPanel on hostmonster. And I have no idea how to proceed now, I want to build the site (make changes, plugins, graphics) before I publish the whole new blog on the self-hosted one. How do I go from here? Can anyone help me out?

Hi, have been operating on wordpress.com for a year at www.vegmonkey.co.uk, which has had the nameservers at ‘telivo’ pointed at it, from www.vegmonkey.wordpress.com .

I have recently bought hosting with ‘hosting unlimited’ and used fantastico to download www.remarpro.com’s software. My problem is that i am using the same domain name. So i disassociated the nameservers with the .com website so that vegmonkey.co.uk is now not attached to anything.

I need to know how to connect it to my host, in which i have downloaded the www.remarpro.com software. Do i have to attach new nameservers? I can’t import my site unless i have one#!

Any help much apreciated. Ta
