My goal is to use Jetpack to allow me to pull images into WP posts from my Google Photos account. But when I go to compose a post, and choose images, there is no reference to GP anywhere. Looking more closely at the Jetpack setup, it seems like it wants me to create a WP.com account. Since I’m self-hosted, I’ve avoided having a WP.com account, but it appears that some functionality in Jetpack is dependent on having a WP.com account.
What I can’t figure out is, do I need the WP.com account to enable GP image integration? I see a long list of features that are, and are not, dependent on the WP.com account but GP image integration is not listed for either.
My goal, initially, is to be able to use a desktop browser (chrome) to create a WP post, and then pull in images from my GP account.
Thanks for any assistance.

But it doesn’t stop there:
Has anyone faced a situation like this? I’m extremely concerned that I may lose access to my website entirely. Any immediate advice or guidance would be invaluable right now.
Thanks so much for your time and help.

Do the plugin just replace img urls with wpcdn.mysite.com without giving access to anybody?
Thnaks.
]]>To get around this I have used the OAuth 2 interface to authenticate with WordPress so I can get the display name, email, profile_URL and Avatar URL’s using the /me endpoint. So now I have all the users details, I’d like to use them to post a comment via JSON.
The submit_comment interface only takes name and email though, so I can’t submit a comment using all the user information so the comment appears with the users avatar.
Accessing wordpress directly you fill in the email and it auto fills the display name and avatar, which then posts with the comment, and it’s something like this I’d like to achieve in a mobile app.
The site doesn’t have any locally registered users, except for authors, but does like to allow people posting comments to login with their wordpress.com account if they have one.
Any ideas?

]]>I’ve used JetPack on a number of sites I’ve built as the functionality is simple and easy for clients to understand. So far I have used one generic master wordpress.com account to register JetPack for each site, but two clients have reported an overlap in email subscirptions using the Blog Subscriptions (Jetpack) widget… Is this because the same account is used??
