I know this is a common problem, as I read and tried almost everything on every thread posted about this same subject.
I am running WordPress 3.8.1 (not an upgrade, as it was a fresh install and new site) and the visual editor button shows up on the page/post pages, but when clicked (it shows the hover state) nothing happens. Same for the add media button, can be clicked, but does not “insert image into post” when clicked.
I have tried the following with no avail:
-made sure that “disable visual editor” button under users in NOT clicked
-deactivated all pluggins
-switched my theme to 2014
-I have, via FTP, deleted and re-uploaded new files of wordpress 3.8.1 wp-admin and wp-includes
-I have added define(‘SCRIPT_DEBUG’, true); to my wp-config file.
-Added define(‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’, false ); to wp-config just after WPLANG line
-cleared cache, restated computer in Chrome, Safari and Firefox
-double checked that javascript is running
When I check on my console, I am getting the following errors:
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘canvas’ of undefined
qt.closeAllTags quicktags.js?ver=3.8.1:555
window.switchEditors.go editor.js?ver=3.8.1:40
window.switchEditors.switchto editor.js?ver=3.8.1:11
onclick
Please let me know if anyone else has any suggestions. I feel like I have been running in circles with this for two days. Thanks so much!
]]>So today I decided to submit the child pages of the site map one at a time. The post-sitemap.xml, home_page-sitemap.xml, category-sitemap.xml all are still not indexed after 7 hours, they are excepted as submited just still not indexed.
The page-sitemap.xml site page was submitted and indexed within seconds.
Does any have any idea why my main site-map is not being indexed or why the child pages all except the one are stuck in pending process?
I should also mention I never had this issue happen until I switched themes this week, the error just appeared up shortly after.
Thanks
Roger

]]>I come to you professionals for some guidance and help.
I am currently hosting a website / sharing blog for the community of Doctors and clinicians in my city to share ideas and news. (news stories, pictures, videos etc)
I am hosting it on a Windows 2008 R2 server running IIS 7.5, WordPress 3.8.1 and I am getting occasional and very frustrating 500 errors relating to fast cgi. At first I thought it was the W3 Total cache addon causing wincache errors but i have turned that off and it still gives me the errors.
The errors are totally random at various times and days. Some times I get 4 on a row, sometimes I go weeks without getting them. At first they were a nuisance but now they’re hindering the actual function of the website.
I have tried everything except a Linux / Apache server to get this going reliably.
I humbly ask for your assistance in getting this going reliably as it is a very excellent source of knowledge and sharing of advice to my colleagues and friends in the community.
Any help would be appreciated.

]]>I want to use the unfiltered_html capability for the administrator role. Is it possible for you to modify your plugin to support that? Since I have seen many wordpress services offer this now even Campus Press ( formerly Edublogs) offers this functionality of allowing administrators to add html tags in their site post or pages. Or is this already available in your Pro version?
