Have whitescreen only on right side of WP Dashboard

Have site that was not updated for a while. Currently has WP ‘3.3.2’ and Thesis 182 theme. Site Dashboard shows only Dashboard menu on left and whitescreen on right for all options except Thesis theme optiosn. This site theme was changed by previous tech and we have no info on license so cannot do anything with that. Want to change to other theme and update WP but whitescreen not allowing this.

Tried renaming plugin folders as suggested elsewhere in forums to rule them out but did not solve the issue. Tried removing Thesis folder but that did not work either.

I developed a site that is currently working with version 3.3. Recently a Facebook Like Button plugin stopped working properly and I feel like it might have to do with the WP version being so out of date. Either way, I’m sure this update needs to happen.

1. Other than exporting the entire content and deactivating the plugins is there anything else I should do before this update?

2. Could there be any issues with this update? I am worried that it will somehow change the appearance of the site that currently looks great (other than the FB button issue).

Caching plugins slow for WordPress 3.3

Has anyone else experienced that their cache plugins actually slow their site down more than deactivating them all together? I recently upgraded to WordPress 3.3 and the plugin I’m using is W3 Total Cache. I noticed that it took a considerable amount of time to navigate through my pages and admin panel. Then I deactivated the plugin and things sped up more than 2x. Whether it’s just because 3.3 is so new, or it was just cause my own configurations, I just wanted to see if other people noticed this as well.

Also this is my first time posting on the forums so I’m seeing what kind of response this might get.

Changed permalinks crashed site WordPress 3.3

I have a prophoto4 wordpress blog with over 50 posts and 10 pages. Lots of pictures.

I’ve just changed my permalinks to /%postname%/ and my entire site has crashed. I can navigate around my dashboard and back-end but can’t access posts or pages. I go back to settings -> permalinks and the page is blank.

Help! At this point I’d be happy to restore the settings to what they were if it means the site will work!

I’m not very techy, so help in lay mans terms would be much appreciated.

Hi there. I came upon a certain problem. After upgrading to WP 3.3 my NectGen Gallery started to act weird. I cannot acces options page or add gallery because the don’t appear. I reinstalled plugin (thought that some files weremissing) and even reinstalled WordPress. Nothing has changed. Any ideas?

Hi,

We use wordpress since 2006 on site hermandadblanca.org, we receive more than 200.000 visits per month.

A few months ago several lectors, and users complain me that from time to time they cant see (cached) or work (not cached) on pages from site because only thing they can see its a blank page…. after some minuts page begins to work again.

This problem happens from wordpress upgrade to 3.0 (but i cant be sure) or maybe from we make the site becomes multisite.

I still searching for a fix but i cant found anything.

We work on a dedicated server with enough memory and cpu, at the moment we have define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘512M’);, but we have raised memory several times for testing if it is the cause, and problem still the same… we use wordpress 3.3, wp-super-cache, wp-minify, and many other plugins….

Any help will be very appreciated…

I am using wordpress 3.3 and atahualpa theme.
I wanted to make a child page. I made my page, went to page attributes and… there was no parent or template! There was only order!

wordpress 3.3 and get_the_post_thumbnail

I just want to do a quick check if the latest version of WordPress 3.3 has changed the get_the_post_thumbnail function at all.

I put togeher a quick mod for th last viewed post to work with wp ecommerce 3.8.7 and everything was working great on the least version of wordpress.

Once updated to wp 3.3 the call for post thumbnail stopped working. Also what I noticed was that uploading product images on wp ecommerce 3.8 also stopped you from setting an image as the featured thumbnail.

I just want to check that no changes were made to the get_the_post_thumbnail before starting to mess with wp ecommerce core code to see if the issue is there (personally I think it’s all part of the wp3.3 and tinymce situation)

Does updating overwrite code changes?

I made changes to my site’s code in order to add epub and mobi file upload functionality as well as to fix consequent issues with Mac users. These changes affected the functions.php and, at the server end, the htaccess file. Previously, I also added Google Analytics code. In the past, when I upgraded to the next WP version I don’t recall having any issues with the additional code being erased or overwritten, but I’d like to make sure before I do so now to 3.3. Does anyone know if updating will affect the changes I made?
