Home page won't publish

I am updating pages and have successfully updated and published some pages. The home page will update within WP but won’t publish. I am also trying to change the pictures on the carousel. Within WP they have updated but again the home page won’t publish. What am I doing wrong?

I’ completely new to this, but I haven’t been able to publish my site to the net. I made the site somewhat presentable and when I hit the publish button, all I got was the 404 error. I talked to the hosting support and they at least got a picture to appear. This time I made the site look better, and it keeps showing the old stuff, if anything at all. I know this may be an easy fix, but, I haven’t done anything like this since Myspace in ’09.

Also, I’d like to know how to get the white box and “Welcome” off the front page, all I want is the picture. Is there a way I can set up folders that require a password to open?

Error Message Upon Trying to Publish?

I’m getting this error message when I try to publish a post:

There has been an error with the API. Please make sure your API settings are correct and try again: The attachment Outdoor-Core-4.jpg could not be included in the request because it was empty.

Any ideas on how I can fix this? I would love to get this plugin working with my Apple News posts.

Won't Publish Posts/Pages

Today was the first day when my posts and pages would not publish. By elimination I was able to get them published when I did not include any charts/pictures in my postings.

What could be the problem? I have made no changes since yesterday to the site…

My Page has been updated, but it won't change on my website

I recently updated a Page: https://smmceachern.com/books-2/sunset-rising/?preview=true&preview_id=3137&preview_nonce=aa6d58fb94 but the old page is still showing up on my website. I’m logged in as an Administrator. It seems to be successfully updated when I “Preview Changes”, but the old page is still there when I “View Page.” Any help you can give me is appreciated!

New page won't publish, just loads and loads

This week I created a new page that is a near duplicate of one of my existing pages and will eventually replace it. I noticed a problem when I tried to paste the content into the editor and it wouldn’t publish. When I clicked Publish or Preview, the bar at the bottom of the browser (don’t know what it’s called) would say “Sending request to sunriseonilion.wordpress.com…” and the wheel spins and spins and nothing happens. I’ve tried leaving it to sit for a long time and still nothing. I can save draft but I can’t update, publish, or preview.

So I thought I’d cut the content in half since it’s very image heavy and may be overburdening the servers. It worked. Then I tried to paste the other half and again, it wouldn’t publish. So I cut that in half and it worked. Then I repeated the process until I had just the last paragraph to add. By now I was adding half a sentence at a time until I could add no more. It’s like Zeno’s race paradox.

The problem seems to be unique to new pages. I can edit old pages just fine. Also, I can update the page without issue from my work computer. I am running the latest Firefox on Windows Vista. The website uses the 2010 theme. The update is more likely to fail if I’ve pasted lots of text or images.

My website is sunriseonilion.wordpress.com unfortunately I can’t link to the trouble page because it is set to private and I can’t change it while it’s broken. The page is nearly identical to this one: https://sunriseonilion.wordpress.com/odyssey/ It has lots of images and text but only two links, and both are internal links. All images are hosted onsite.

I have tried clearing my computer’s cache and rebooting.
I have switched to 2014 theme to no avail.
I have no plugins to disable.
I have tried recreating the page with no success.
I would rather not clear my browser’s cache because it has a lot of important stuff on it.
Due to virus issues I can only run Firefox in vanilla mode with addons disabled at each startup.

Like many other posts I’ve seen here, I created a new page and for some reason it won’t publish. I went on to create another, very simple page, and it published without incident. So I’m confused. Please advise. What could it be about this one page that won’t allow it to publish? Thank you in advance.

Won't Update/Can't Customize

I have been able to get my website to update at all, i use Domain.com for hosting and i used their drag and drop website maker and decided to switch to WordPress. I deleted the old site and downloaded WP, but when i went to customize the site, nothing shows up. It has all of the options like: header, background picture, etc. on the left and a blank white screen on the right. Then i just thought maybe if i hit save and publish, it will work… nothing happened. I went to my website to see what was going on and it’s still set up as the drag and drop website, even though i deleted it. I don’t get it and it’s getting really, really frustrating. If I don’t figure something out soon, im going to have to contact Domain.com and WP to see what going on. Thanks for your help!

Events Calendar

Can’t get events calendar to publish at all today and always has been erratic. I am working on a church calendar and want to add 3 events on Sundays to repeat. I have at times gotten the events to add on one Sunday only and lost everything when updated one to repeat. I have at another time gotten two events to be on calendar and repeat but couldn’t get third to add. And today can get nothing to add.

I did read some posts and tried to re-update WordPress — no luck.

I was told by the person who designed our site that the calendar is quirky and she has been luck since she stopped putting a forever repeat and no more than a year so I have been trying a three month repeat. No Luck.

I am brand new to wordpress but have written several websites with xhtml and css and am a C# programmer so I should be able to resolve this.

I thank you for any help and am sorry if I chose wrong forum.

It will take me to the dashboard and when I edit something it says Finished! View Site, I do so. But my website just the same from the other builder. What do I have to do? I created it with another website builder but wordpress won’t edit any. Do I have to delete everything?
