Hi! Please help, when importing a scv file (windows-1251 encoding), of course, the plugin does not understand and shows characters, if

Swedish and Russian language on one site?

A client asked me if I could insert russian content into their Swedish site, “of course” I said and didn’t think that would be any problem. But I was so wrong.
Since the site is in utf8 and have to be for ??? I can’t just change DB_CHARSET to windows-1251, this will turn ??? into “?”.

And when im trying to insert russian cyrillic text, it will just turn out as alot of ????.

Do I really have to go through PHPMyAdmin to fix this or is there a simple fix for this?

[Plugin: Postie] Subject encoding doesn't work

I’m sending email using encoding CP1251 for Subject and a picture attached and everything works fine except the subject is not encoded right.

I tried adding text in the email with the same encoding and it works but not in the subject.

Also I tried changing the Postie settings for “Encoding for pages and feeds:” to CP1251 and even Windows-1251 and still the same.

Looking to solve this problem as this encoding covers a big part of Europe.

UTF-8 to windows-1251

Hi, I have a running 2.3 WordPress site which has been installed on the default UTF-8 character encoding. My site is in Bulgarian and thus I face some difficulties with this encoding. I need to switch to windows-1251 but I can’t seem to find a way to that without losing all my database. Can you please help me?

Or!!! Is there a way, to import windows-1251 content to my UTF-8 wordpress? The exact opposite too, my UTF-8 content to another windows-1251?

Problem with UTF-8 for Russian text

I have had problems with UTF-8 for Russian text when trying to install WP on my website. In IE it worked OK but not in FireFox. The .htaccess trick did not help.

Can I change the blog encoding to windows-1251 for convenience? How can I do it? Can it affect the work of the blog?

Please help!
