Nothing I do will conjure up the Footer widget. I’ve got the Twenty-Twelve theme – is this why it won’t work? I can’t change theme now. I need to be able to set up a decent looking footer like the one I have on my other website (as explained above).
Ideally would be great to be able to do this via the widget but any other suggestions would be welcome. Something easy to use!
So far I’ve tried Customise Menu > Main Sidebar > Add a Widget (searched “Footer” – no results). I’ve also tried Widgets > and looking for the widget manually as well as Ctrl + F, typing in “footer” – nothing. Not there! I’ve also looked in the Inactive Widgets list – not there.
I also don’t have any other “Screen Options” under the Widget menu other than Enable Accessibility Mode, which also doesn’t conjure it up.
Help! Driving me mental.
Thanks,
FP
Not only that, but for example if I click on the arrow next to ‘screen options’ it only toggles if I am NOT on my widgets page!

and why when customizing on a page like this:
https://builders-of-jerusalem.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Customizing.jpg
why does it say:
Your theme has 6 widget areas, but this particular page doesn’t display them.
But I see “Pages” and “Jobs Performed” on the right side. Isn’t this a widget area?
]]>First, my layout is switched backward the sidebar is on the left which I do not like.
Second, widgets are set the way I had them and now random ones are showing up all over. They are showing in the footer area, text about widgets is showing on the sidebar and I can’t get rid of it.
Not sure what is going on.
Please help.
]]>I need your help. I’m the web editor of a student publication at my college (www.hillsdalecollegian.com) and when I got back from spring break, I noticed that a number of widget containers and in other instances the widgets, but not the containers, disappeared from my website **seemingly randomly.** I rely heavily on widgets and plugins, so this is a big problem.
My website is built on the Thesis theme (2.2.3) if that helps.
I’m beside myself because to my knowledge, no one has touched the website since I left campus for spring break. I replaced the missing widgets as best I could, but my knowledge of html and css is limited and was only able to restore so much. Additionally, after making the patches to the website, I saved my current Thesis skin.
Do you know why widgets might have disappeared? Additionally, how can I stop this from happening again in the future?
]]>So I thought I would try a smaller width. Same problem. It is aligning to the right and cutting part of the ad off.
I tried aligning left, aligning center. Not sure what the problem is. I use the text widget for a lot of my other sidebar items, and have not had this problem.
Can anyone advise? Take a look at the Amazon ad? It is suppose to be 160×600 and should fit with room to spare.
My page is

I updated from Jetpack 2.9.3 to Jetpack 3.0. Now menus in my dashboard, for posts, for pages, for the calendar widget I use, don’t show properly. Also, photo gallery styles associated with Jetpack don’t work. I tried reverting to Jetpack 2.9.3 and that didn’t resolve the problem. I deactivated and removed Jetpack completely and that didn’t resolve the problem. I’m concerned that if I do more I will cause more problems and possibly lose content/files/more functionality.
I suspect the Jetpack 3.0 installation overwrote or affected some part of the WordPress package. But I am hesitant to reinstall WordPress before I can identify the specific problem.

]]>I’m wondering when the next theme version is coming out? I’m trying to add a Twitter Feed widget to the home page according to our wireframe, but because of the unavailability of the sidebar widget area on the homepage, it shows up on all pages except for home.
I’m not a coder and am afraid to go into the code and crash the site, especially when I don’t really know what I’m doing. Please let me know, thank you!
