Change background color on footer sidebar

Hello, I’m trying to change the background of my footer sidebar to black. My theme is supposed to have a “dark” style for this area, but when I choose it from “Appearance: theme options”, only the font color changes (to white) the background stays the same as my site background, which is white. This “theme options don’t take” has happened a couple of times and I sure would appreciate some help with this!

Hello guys. I’m just getting started with WordPress and I need your help if possible.
I am using “Ample Theme” and it offers a background image option, but any widget or even text that I insert makes the screen with a white background.

I’ve already tried to add transparency to these widgets with the additional css, but it didn’t help.

Can someone help me?

I have searched and tried several different solutions but nothing seems to work.
I want to change the color of the background for my sidebar in the twenty ten theme. I have tried using the add CSS but it does not seem to work. any help greatly appreciated.
I had it before but my site took a dump and the restore did not work so I am starting from scratch.

Background removal Flexible Posts Widget

Can’t seem to come up with the CSS descriptor for my child theme style.css to remove the background from the post image and link (post title) with FPW. I can see it’s a single div background behind the large image and title. I can target the div with Chrome Inspector but can’t modify the background. A 5px padding outside the image, all 4 sides might work as well. Don’t like the title tight,flush left below the image. Suggestions.Thanks.

Can't change fonts or get colors to work right in biker theme

I can’t get my fonts to change no matter what I do, and my widget background color and heading title color are both blue when they are supposed to be green. I’ve exhausted my own ideas and have no idea what to do next. I’d like to launch my site this weekend, but can’t do so because it looks like a mishmash right now. Help!

How to make the area background colors go behind the widgets? I love the Customizr theme and would like the page background colors to go up close to the images even when they zoom. Refer to site page https://rodwellbuildingservices.com/. The featured images are in a white box and so are the footer widgets and sidebar. Can anyone say how to modify so the white areas are the same colors as their surroundings?
