I don’t seem to be able to update WordPress or add any plugins. (Sorry if this is too long.)

I’m trying to migrate a website from Weebly to WordPress on behalf of a nonprofit; the site is hosted on iPage. I’m using the directions that I found here:

I’ve been able to download the Weebly site as an XML file without any problems. The problems all seem to be on the WordPress backend. Under Tools > Import, I’ve attempted to install the WordPress Installer, but I do not seem to be able to do so. I keep getting an error that reads:

Installation failed: Could not create directory. /hermes/bosnacweb05/bosnacweb05bg/b2111/ipg.careclinicrwcom/wp_site_1704571800/wp-content/upgrade/wordpress-importer.0.8.1

In addition, the WordPress I’m doing this on is 6.1, but any time I attempt to update to 6.4, the update fails and I receive the same message I’ve mentioned above. I’ve also attempted to install Elementor and received the same error message.

This is my first time trying to migrate a site. Am I glossing over something? Is this a known issue? Is there something with iPage that’s preventing me from doing this? Is there some kind of process still running on WordPress in the background that needs to finish and I just have to let it sit for a bit?

Import / Migrate Weebly Site Not Working (for me)

I tried using the HTML importer to move my Weebly site to my WP site. The process is complete but the end result is unusable.
The pages I am interested in are here.
The media library has no new files.
The pages I wish to import contain image carousels. Is this a problem with the import?
At the very least, I would like to import the media library from Weebly to WordPress.

Started using POWr plugins on Weebly and had a lot of compliments and success with these and clients especially very happy. They’re easy to configure and use and they take away the need to try to have FB and Instagram and other developer accounts in order to get the feeds to work.
Now using these plugins a lot on our WordPress sites for all of our non-profit and charity clients. The social feed plugin is a real time saver for them because it means that they can use their social media platforms to tell their stories and they know that whatever they put on their social media channels will automatically show up on their website via the POWr Social Feed plugin.

weebly to wordpress

I am taking our web site from weebly to wordpress. We have 500+ blog posts I want to transfer to our yet to be wordpress site.
I have read for hours on the the web and tried a few solutions none of which have worked.
I could write some python code or tcl to say read the sitemap.xml, get the data I need from each block post, and format the output to import into wordpress.

But it will take me longer to do this than good old copy/paste.

So my question is does anyone have a working solution to get weebly blogs transferred into workpress?

I am not looking to move content, as I am not happy with my Weebly site! I purchased my domain for 2 years and would now like to use it with WordPress. Is this possible, and how so?
I would like to use the “Lovely” or “Feminine Kat” theme from Genesis if this makes a difference!

Transfer Weebly hosting to WordPress

Hello, I recently opened an account with weebly hosting services but realized quickly the company offers little flexibility when it comes to customizing my own pages. I was hoping someone could help walk me through the steps necessary to transfer my hosting service from weebly over to wordpress (fyi the domain is registered under google). I also want to connect this account to my DreamHost account and would greatly appreciate any help with this.

Sharing via Facebook problem

Hello!

I’ve recently connected my WordPress ran domain to my Weebly designed site, but when I have the site published, if I share on (for example) Facebook, the preview that appears below links to my WordPress site.

Is there a way to fix this? As it’s quite a big issue. My domain points to my Weebly site so I don’t think it could be that.

Can anyone help?
