WP Multisite setup on a subfolder throws 404 for frontend

Hi,

We are in the process of checking WordPress multisite feature. The base website is working. Link: [ redundant link removed ].

We created another website using sub folder. For this admin side is working. This url /wp-multisite/site1/wp-admin/options-general.php is working.
But when we try to access the website this throws 404 error. Link: /wp-multisite/site1/

I painstakingly spend hours and days of research before committing to and buying a major component for my website. It’s hard, because I’m building my first website and I don’t really know what’s best for me yet. I started with a page builder that came with my web host subscription and that was painful! The plugins recommended by pros weren’t working or created conflicts. Eventually, I trashed the whole thing and started over. I am fairly certain this is why I do a lot of research now.

The next thing I decided on was Elementor and it is so much easier! I like that the pros I follow on YouTube put together some really nice tutorials. wpcrafter.com, wpsculptor.com and snifflevalve.com all have excellent tutorials using Elementor with the Generate Press theme. They all have free and pro tutorials for Elementor and GP.

Generate Press is one of the most recommended with Elementor, because it’s so customizable. Not once have I experienced the two fighting against each other. GP also goes for full width mode, and allows you to take over most functions using Elementor. That said, Elementor says it works with most themes and it’s website has a list of their most recommended themes.

I went pro for both Elementor and GP because compared to other themes and builders, the price was very reasonable. Both make it really easy to get started in free mode and you can create full websites with both. However, if you’re going to have things like pricing tables, online courses, ecommerce, or want a truly one stop shop, I recommend at least going for Elementor Pro. They have a few functions in the pipeline to be rolled out yet, but they’ve released so much in the 2 months I’ve had them, I don’t expect it to take long to roll out the rest. It’s not anything needed at this moment that another plugin can’t do.

And that leads to my favorite part. Thanks to Elementor, I have already been able to remove a number of plugins. I just removed a coming soon/maintenance mode plugin, for instance. I removed a separate slider plugin, too. These are 2 functions that were rolled out since I purchased it a couple months ago. There’s some plugins on my radar that I scratched and I expect I will continue to remove separate plugins as they continue releasing new features. I like simplified. I like one stop shop.

I’m not the only one excited. A lot of website builders are too. 3rd party developers are creating plugins just for Elementor. The 3 I mentioned that I watch on YouTube all develop sites for a living.

Hello,

I have an existing (non-wordpress) website hosted by justhost.com

I would like to create a new www.remarpro.com website and then publish it to justhost.com in place of the old site.

I have the instructions on how to migrate it but just don’t know how to create it!

Is there any way to do this? I am basically trying to minimize the time the website is offline. Suggestions/methods welcome.

Creating a sub menu

Hi, I am student who is completely new to wordpress although I have knowledge of creating websites using standard HTML and CSS. I am trying to use wordpress to create a full charity website and would like to know is it possible to create a sub menu down the left hand, which will change under each main navigation heading.

For example under the main heading ‘news’ the sub menu titles will be, events, thank you and our recent success wheras under the main heading ‘in action’ the sub menu titles will be photos and video.

Please help! Thank you!

p.s i am currently using the default twenty ten theme.
