Classic Editor Visual Tab disabled when Pods is active

WordPress 5.8.2, Pods 2.8.8.1, Theme “BareMinimum“, with either “Classic Editor” or “Disable Gutenberg” plugins.

I have noticed that the Classic Editor (enabled with either of the two plugins mentioned above) visual tab is not working when Pods is activated. Text mode editing works fine. I have already verified that this is the case regardless of which other plugins are active.

Is there some fundamental incompatibility of Pods with the Classic Editor visual mode?

This is for me a make-or-break issue with an otherwise great plugin.

I would give this 5 stars if the visual tab worked. For most user I imagine it does, but for developers who manage multiple websites, you will discover that sometimes the visual tab is inactive. The reasons given online range from possibly a conflicting plugin, outdated wp, or theme being a culprit, and even suggesting disabling and reenabling the user visual html writing function in settings as possible fixes. When actually the easiest fix is to install another plugin called ‘Disable Gutenberg’ -This will restore the classic editing functions including the visual tab. If in the future this plugin bug where sometimes the visual tab doesn’t work is fixed, then please disregard my negative review. But for now, this plugin is no good to me so long as another actually does everything to disable gutenberg block editor and restore the classic html editor (including visual tab).

As a web developer, I started to have a panic attack upon realizing I needed to start editing pages with the new block editor that is unnecessarily complicated in many ways and for some reason removes very basic controls such as being able to view how all the html looks on the entire page at once. I couldn’t even figure out how to move a block into a specific section of the page (e.g. moving block at bottom of page up sends it all the way to top, even above the subject of the page, moving the subject to top sends the other block back to bottom of the page), this being just one of countless issue I ran across, including dealing with the autosave function. Why can’t we save when we want, why can’t I view HTML on entire page, why can’t I disable this block editor for old editor just to compare, etc? So finally I had enough and researched how to disable this, and discovered that more wp user gave the new block editor negative feedback than positive, and there was a plugin for people like me. The number one plugin created by the wp community however wouldn’t allow me to see the visual tab. I researched this and a number of suggestions came up including possibly another plugin, outdated theme, wp, etc could be the culprit… Recalling however there was another popular plugin for disabling the block editor, this one, I took a chance, and PROBLEM SOLVED! Thank goodness – I immediately was able to quickly edit my page in seconds like I wanted and see it in visual tab, published, done. So far, this plugin is a life saver, and should be included in wordpress software as a default option.

“Visual” tab not working

Sometime within the last week, I can no longer click on the “Visual” tab while editing pages on my site. The tab is there but nothing happens when I click.
I tried several different browsers, several different themes, and disabling plugins but none of that worked. All of my themes and plugins are up to date.

Can’t edit or create posts in visual tb

I don’t know if this is a theme problem or WordPress update issue but every page and post only goes into text view when I click edit. I just removed Elementor so I’m wondering if that is the problem, or is it the recent WP update. I have another site that uses this theme and it is not an issue on that site. Any ideas what could be causing this?

I just upgraded to 1.4.0 and lost the ability to switch between Visual/Text editing tabs for Pages and Posts. I’m also no longer able to multi-select things like plugins etc. Perhaps a JavaScript conflict?

Issues with Classic editor

I have WP 5.0.3 and Classic Editor. But I have following issues with the editor:

– tab Text: only white text on white background
– tab Visual: not accessible

I disabled other plugins and reinstalled the editor , but this does not help.

Visual tab doesn’t show content

Hi,

Only top of first line is visible.
Editing through text tab is normal.

What’s going wrong here?

Make text editor default

Hi!

I just installed the editor and everything’s working fine so far. Except the fact that I have to deal again with the “visual”-tab which was deactivated before. Is there a way to make that tab disappear again and just leave me with the text-mode as the default mode? Deactivating the tab in my user profile doesn’t do the trick anymore as it deactivates the text-tab instead of the visual-tab.
