]]>This is due to the fact that the settings inside Contact Form “via” and “mailed-by” are using the hosting servers and not the domain name.
I already tested this so I know this is an issue with Contact Form 7.
The problem is I don’t know how to change “via” and “mailed-by” inside contact form 7.
See this screenshot: https://prnt.sc/uo0ze4
I want to change the “via” and “mailed-by” from displaying the hosting server name to the name of the main domain.
Instead of this “via cloud.hostgator.com” and “mailed-by: cloud.hostgator.com”
I want this “via mydomain.com” and “mailed-by: mydomain.com”
Makes sense?
How I can do that?

]]>However when a contact form is filled in and I receive it in gmail the from adress in the mail header is showed like this: From: Arnold <[email protected]> via domain1.nl
I can click on Via and get more information > https://support.google.com/mail/answer/1311182/
Some more info
– I added spf record in dns of where domain is hosted (different host then where website is located) with the ip of both hosts.
– I tried it with a new contact form… same problem
– I did a search in the database for ‘domain1’ and found 0 hits.
– When I open the mail in roundcube you dont see the ‘VIA’
Anyone has a clue?? Any help would be welcome!

The site is for a health professional and confidentiality and integrity are very important for any details sent via the form.

]]>From outside the hosting company’s server park, one can only access another SMTP server, which has authentication, and restricts access AND email headers to support only _real_ email account’s.
Recently I’ve developed an application that needs to send generated emails as part of the signup flow, this app is written in node.js and hosted elsewhere, but needs to send emails from [email protected].
Feature-request:
If postman exposed a custom API for actually sending emails VIA wordpress, my node-app could deliver the email to be sent via HTTP to my wordpress site. The site would then be able to send it using my server providers internal SMTP server, effectively bypassing the restrictions imposed on the “public” SMTP server.
