I have installed the Variation Swatches for WooCommerce plugin for my client’s website. But now I am facing an issue with the plugin.
I added the attributes globally and configured all items. The actual problem occurs when I select a variation ie a color, the product image doesn’t change and only the main product image keeps showing.
For an experiment, I removed main product image and checked, and it started changing the images. And when I added the main image back, the problem started to occur again. The link I shared is for just one product. All of my products are having same issue. Can you please guide me what is actually the issue with my site? I’ve tried your demo videos as well.
]]>Since last WooCommerce update I noticed the main image was not changing when user changed the variation (i.e. move from white t-shirt to blue t-shirt).
I disabled all other plugins and reactivated one-by-one and found out the problem was generated by Imagify. Probably there is a conflict which generates this issue.
Do you know how to avoid this? maybe by deactivating a specific options in Imagify settings. Or if an update is coming to fix this?
This is a real problem for e-commerce, currently I had to deactivate Imagify since the store cannot be used properly with this situation.
Many thanks in advance,
Francesco
Any suggestions on what else to do?
]]>However, none of the variation photos appears when a potential buyer makes a selection on the pulldown. (Only the main Product Image is displayed, although the SKU # does change during this process).
Is this a problem with WooCommerce or the Storefront theme?
I’m using:
WordPress vers. 4.9.1
WooCommerce vers. 3.2.6
Storefront vers. 2.2.5
So I’ve had a good look and can’t seem to find anything which matches what I’m describing…
Is there a plugin which shows a thumbnail of the main image of a variation, before it is selected?
E.g. the user can select the variation, not by the usual dropdown menu, but by clicking on a photo from a gallery which is in the place of the dropdown menu area.
Or, the dropdown menu can stay there, but next to the title of each variation is simply a thumbnail of the main image for that variation?
I hope this makes sense, and better yet, someone has a solution for me! xD
Note: I’m not looking for a plugin which allows me to have multiple gallery images for variable products (I’ve already got the WooCommerce Additional Variation Images plug which does that great).
Kind Regards,
Marcos
I’ve built a shop for selling framed fabric artwork, each design is available in various fabrics so I have set up the fabric options for each design as variations and added an image to each variation.
My client wants the user to see all fabric variations for each product on each product home page so I have added the product variation images as an image gallery, so now when you click on a product you see the default main image and underneath are thumbnails of the other fabric options.
When you select a variation from the drop down list the main image updates with the chosen variation as expected. The issue I am having is if the user then selects a thumbnail image of one of the other fabrics then the main image updates with that fabric option but the product selected on the variation drop down remains as it was. This could lead to someone buying the wrong fabric option as if they click a new thumbnail image they might assume that has changed the selection and then go to the checkout.
I understand why this is happening – the gallery feature is not linked to the product variation. My question therefore is this – is there a way to link product variations to the image gallery – so that when you click on a thumbnail it become the main image but is also updates the image variation selection.
Or, is there a plugin that creates an image gallery from the product variation images and displays them on the product homepage.
I’ve been looking for ages but all I can find are plugins that allow you to upload multiple images for each product variation. I am happy to have one image per variation but I wish for them all to be displayed on the product home page.
I hope I have explained this sufficiently… Unfortunately I can’t provide a link as the site has a coming soon page active.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated and thanks so much for taking the time to read this.
Thanks,
Adam.
