The one thing that has kept me from moving over to WordPress for my blogs, writings, etc. is that it is so so hard to learn!

I’ve used other blogging tools and the sample templates they provide are filled-in. When you choose a sample, it is filled in and looks great! Of course, it’s a replica of the sample chosen, but you can then pick photos and subject matter to keep that format intact, and your page looks great!

With WordPress, however the beautiful template you choose, once selected, is devoid of form and materials. It’s for all practical purposes not even there.

Am I missing something?
Is there a trick to using this wonderful tool that I’ve just managed to miss?

actually, i have worked on a wordpress template(newly installed) in one PC(ubuntu) which had crashed so i just taken files by copying from it and now i tried on just copy paste from that to another PC(both windows/ubuntu) it asks for installing wordpress and also db not found? why???? even i just copied both htdocs and mySQL(bin) everything from XAMPP? any info’s about it? can’t we install in one PC and just copy paste ..will it works or not just confused!

Hello! This may seem like a dumb question, and I ask that you please forgive me if it is.. When using WordPress, am I supposed to upload the file that I extracted to the FTP program for my website? I ask, because I am attempting to customize the template so that it won’t display headers, footers, and etc. All that I want is a simple grid pattern, which displays the most recent post at the top of the page, and the rest side-by-side in rows of two with the option to comment, along with the archives category so that my readers may review old posts. I am using an IFRAME layout with a very large custom graphic as the header, and would like to place my WordPress page inside of the IFRAME itself, which is why it is important that the page only display my writings, archives, categories, and etc. Any information that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I truly thank you for taking the time to help me with this problem, and look forward to your response!

I have installed WordPress on my server and I have chosen “Nettwen” as my hosting provider. My site is www.kodigehalli-news.in and I would like to add a blog in it. I am aware of iFrame as well. I can login through Ipage, but not htrough regular web site

I have an Ipage account where my blog is posted, and I can get into the wordpress controls through there, but I can not go on the regular wordpress.com site and login. It says invalid user name. There is also an error on my page that says “Not Found 404” are these two problems linked, and how do I get my username to work on the regular web site?

I installed WordPress from the scripting and add-ons section in my web host’s control panel. I see it listed in the File Manager, but I’m a real greenhorn and 99.9 percent of this computer stuff goes right over my head.
I’m not sure I’m explaining this right, but basically how do I access/use/get it to my web site/page after it’s installed? Basically, how do I add this application/software to the actual page?
