We’d like to save a url as a custom value in a hidden field to pass on as a query parameter. The url we want to save contains query parameters itself, including an ampersand. The ampersand is getting translated into “&%3B”. We tried using the “%26″ encoding shown here for special characters, but that disappears completely. We’ve also tried “&” and “&” as shown here, and even an escape backslash. Nothing works.

How can we insert an ampersand into a custom value string for a hidden field?

URL String Issues

Hi all, I”m temporarily managing a site after a colleague left and have created a page but the URL string needs to be formatted in a specific way, .com/news/insight/blog-title. The colleague no longer has access to the site to easily troubleshoot this issue obviously and it wasn’t covered in his handover.

The URL string: .com/news/insight/blog-title, relates to our top line nav and several widgets across the site which pull from /news OR /Insight.

All other pages in the /insight section follow this convention, and no matter what I do, this new page cuts /insight out and only publishes to /news/blog-title.
The lack of /insight/ in the URL string means the new blog doesn’t appear on the /insight page, nor does it appear in another page where the widget pulls from the /insight page. Its creating an additional issue for my reporting as we can link to the page directly but it isn’t discoverable on my website anywhere.

In creating the page, I used an existing /insight page as a template and have checked all the categories, tags and settings are the same for the original and new pages but am getting nowhere. Hope someone can help.

Can’t remove Google API string from URL

I have recently removed this plugin from one of my sites as they no longer need the distance based shipping. But, the query string is still appearing in all of my page URLs. I cannot find how to remove it.

So a page that should be www.my-site.com/page-name
looks something like this: www.my-site.com/page-name/?v=12dd123dc7d8

How can I remove this?

My problem is with the URL parameters and paginations,

I want to share this whole URL https://10.1.1.90/x/profile/?x=1

but When I am sharing the page, I am getting something like this
https://10.1.1.90/x/profile/
Without x=1m

the same issue is with the paginations.

URL string to Popup Maker and WPForms

Hi,
I have set up a page with Elementor that includes a button to call a popup (with Popup Maker). In that popup I have included a form created with WPForms. Now I would like to use Dynamic Field Population already from the Elementor page. Basically I have a dropdown field in the form that should be filled with whatever link (URL string) I chose from the Elementor page.

This works when not using Popup maker and looks as following: https://bienie-on-tour.eu/contact-copy/?wpf958_5=Coaching%20request

However, I would like to avoid using a page for that and instead using a popup. Is that possible at all? Is there any chance with a CSS class (I am not very familiar with this)?

No Url string on resultpage when filtering

When i use the filter on the resultpage i don’t see the url changing with a string according to the filter. Is this something i can change in WP or do i need to change something on the code?
Also gives problems if i go to a detail page and then go back to the resultpage the page doens’t load the listings.

Long strings & Elementor after last updates

Hi all,
After looking at this support forum and trying out different things, we have managed to find our problem and we wanted to report it here in case someone else is in the same situation and to inform the developers to fix it in next updates if possible.

After the two last updates of Elementor this week, users in one of the blogs in our Multisite installation (WP 5.5) could not access to edit their pages with the Elementor editor any more. However, this issue was not experienced by other blogs in the installation. We found out that the problem was related to long strings in the URL of the blogs, which Elementor was not able to process after the updates. We reduced the urls and it worked again.

This was part of the message of the kind of error that appeared in the logs:
PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Requests_Exception: Provided string is too long in /var/www/html/wp-includes/Requests/IDNAEncoder.php:70\nStack trace:\n#0 /var/www/html/wp-includes/Requests/IDNAEncoder.php(46): Requests_IDNAEncoder::to_ascii

I want to use a url string in a submenu link to activate a checkbox on the landing page that by default is off. I’ve tried using the field_value=1 and slug=1, such as
https://domain.com/page?fld_12345=1 or https://domain.com/page?slug=1 as well as a few other options such as ?fld_12345_1=1 and ?fld_12345_opt4321=1 based on various values in the CSS and nothing works.

Always Show Custom Field On Cart Page

Hi,

I have a product on one of my sites that is added to the cart automatically using the URL string /?add-to-cart=123 when a certain page is selected. I would like to add a custom field to this product that can be edited on the Cart page. This only seems to show when the custom field has already been filled in on the product page which won’t happen if the product is added automatically. Is there a way to set this up?

I have also noticed that the “double click to edit” feature doesn’t seem to work on the Cart page for me on a Mac. Is this just an issue with a Mac or across all operating systems?
