I’m running into a bit of a head-scratcher with my website and could use your expertise. Here’s what I’m working on and could use some help with:
/my-shop/ to /shop/. I previously had a page at /shop/, but I deleted it completely from the backend and even cleared the cache. Despite this, /shop/ is still being used by the old page that should no longer exist, and it’s taking up the slug space. Any ideas on how to get /shop/ freed up and functional again?Thanks a ton for any help you can offer. Looking forward to hearing your suggestions as I really just wanna get this show on the road aha!

]]>Because I had to install a new plugin that wasn’t compatible with the current version of WP, I decided to upgrade WP and also the plugins installed. After some initial fixes, I was left with a major problem related with permalinks, and by activating and deactivating plugins, I’ve understood that the issue is caused by Seriously Simple Podcasting.
As mentioned by another user “Run the upgrade by clicking this link does not seem to work”, I cannot run the upgrade you mention – and I’m not sure if that’s what is causing the problem.
So, the website’s permalinks were set to /%postname%/. I’ve saved it again to refresh it, but no luck. And what’s happening is that any URL that is website.com/page-name or website.com/podcast/podcast-name isn’t working – it’s giving a 404 error.
While trying different fixes, the only thing that made the website kinda work is to set the permalinks to anything but /%postname%/ – which let’s me open any page or podcast-page, but essentially all the permalink structure isn’t working, and also I’ve noticed that the /feed/ pages (for the RSS distribution) are also giving a 404 error, so that’s trouble.
Can you help me our figuring what might be the cause and how to fix it? Thanks!

The link I have given in the button is https://www.mp3kabaap.com/wp-content/uploads/Neeraj-test.mp3 but when I try to download from button, the link changes to something like “https://www.mp3kabaap.com/uncategorized/test/get/?urls=dmdVSmVuak5wV3RtdzZ1Njl1b0V0N1Y5UFhGZDhIWmoxaDd2R2NoeXlhejYwaFRMNUVsY2c5L2dJM3lobDlxaUN4Q0MwZWRHd1hqTGJXRWwvdFRSQ2c9PQ==&names=test.mp3″…. Not sure from where these strange characters and get/url links get added. Due to such long and useless characters, the links are not working. Can anyone please help me with strange problem. ]]>Typically, if I visit the blog page of my website and click the name of an author I see a page with all the authors posts, e.g:
https://www.myiwe.co.uk/author/testauthor/
/testauthor/ in the above instance represents the first and last names of an author.
If I click on the name of the author who is admin, I would expect to see:
https://www.myiwe.co.uk/author/anthonyewers/
However I don’t see that, I see:
https://www.myiwe.co.uk/author/admin-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2/
If I then use WP Custom Author URL plugin to set the authors page to:
https://www.myiwe.co.uk/author/anthonyewers/
I then get a 404 page. Can you help?
