Installed WordPress to /attempt in the beginning of the quick install from dreamhost. Now i have the website working, i would like to be able to see it at my base domain, (www.example.com) but unfortunately, if i do not add the /attempt (www.example.com/attempt) i get the following:
Not Found
The requested URL /cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
How to i redirect the URL of where i want my web page to exist!!!
have searched over the net for the last hour, can’t seem to find a way to do it!
any help appreciated
thanks
]]>So last week I was trying to change the URL to our site ( https://www.synergymedcorp.com/wp )….I was simply trying to take out the ( /wp ) part because I was trying to advertise certain pages with https://www.synergymedcorp.com/CertainPage …A few people sent me links to a way to do it…
I went under the dashboard and then the ‘General Panel’ and under ‘site address URL’ I took out the (/wp)… click save and so on……
My site got all weird and now I cant even log in…….. I usually log in at https://www.synergymedcorp.com/wp/wp-admin
How do I get it back to how it was before?… any Ideas?
Please help! Thanks!

]]>I’m trying to change my permalinks so they read e.g:
www.ststn.co.uk/about
www.ststn.co.uk/courses
instead of
https://www.ststn.co.uk/?page_id=30
https://www.ststn.co.uk/?page_id=98
I’ve read other threads but they haven’t helped.
Please could someone write an idiots guide for me! If I change anything on the permalinks page i get the message “you must update your .htc access”?
All help appreciated.
Thanks.
I was wondering if you could please kindly help me out because I am having a problem with our wordpress website.
In a nutshell, I want to create a page that is not visible on the website, but is accessible to anybody when typing in the URL.
The only way we have been able to do this at the moment is by making the page a “post” to replicate this, however the URL is not as clean as if it was a page.
The current url of the page where the data is projected is:
https://www.americamp.co.uk/2010/10/application2011/
However, we want the URL to be https://www.americamp.co.uk/application2011/
however am unsure how to do this without making the page visible on the website (which I don’t want to do)
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks guys
]]>I’m having a big problem with the url’s of all my images (that images in my post preview on my blogs home page etc).
https://gameserverslive.co.uk/blog/wp-content/themes/eGamer/timthumb.php?src=https://gameserverslive.co.uk/blog/images/directory.jpg&h=90&w=90&zc=1
Basically all the images have now added the following the front of the images true url https://gameserverslive.co.uk/blog/wp-content/themes/eGamer/timthumb.php?src=
and this on the end &h=90&w=90&zc=1
when it should be this https://gameserverslive.co.uk/blog/images/directory.jpg&h=90&w=90&zc=1
I dont have a clue how or when this happened (I know it was before I updated my WP to the latest one out tho). Can anyone please help me with this as I’m at a true loss on whats happened and how I go about fixing it (removing the extra code) so my images will show again.
Thanks in advance for any help guys
P.S. I could do with a fix asap please as without the images my blog looks some what poor
