I continue to have trouble uploading a theme that I purchased.

I have followed every instruction, and this is the message that I receive when I attempt to upload the file:
Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

Destination folder already exists. /home3/wisejour/public_html/wp-content/themes/wp-diary-pro/

Theme installation failed.

I am at a loss and extremely frustrated.

I deleted my theme and tried to redownload it because I was having issues with it and now when I try to upload it I get this: The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.”

I am using Zerif Pro and my website is photoperfectphotobooth.com if that helps. I also tried to upload a different theme, flaton, and I got the same error message.

Hi, I have used localhost to design a website and have finished. I have bought my domain name from 123 and when exporting I couldn’t take the theme I bought into wordpress. Now I have linked my domain name to a wordpress.com user and can only use the themes listed. What can I do? Have I basically paid for something I cannot use. n.b. my site is online.

Thank you in advance. I purchased a theme from a Themeforest, downloaded the zip, but for some reason, when i go to the correct page to upload the theme, the upload option isn’t available!

I set up this account with WordPress a few hours ago, but I don’t see why I wouldn’t be allowed to upload a theme? I have a premium account.

hello!

new to wordpress. i’ve successfully uploaded and activated several themes to use for my site. however, i am only able to do this with themes that come in the format of a .zip file….it seems some do, some do not.

as is the case with the current theme i am interested in: deCente

i’ve tried googling & searching the forums here for advice…and i cannot find what i need. perhaps i do not know how to ask the question i am asking, of course.

so, how can i install/upload a theme that does not come in a .zip file? i am happy to provide lots of other info about how this particular theme is downloading to my computer, just ask!

im on a macbook air OS X mountain lion.

Temp use of IP adr, can't upload themes

Just installed WP 3.5.1 on server, but can’t use person’s domain name since their existing site is up and running. Plan to redirect the domain once the new wp site is done and checked out. Anyway, was trying to install a theme… so when I do, I get error that something is wrong with my FTP credentials… must it have a domain name? or, will it use the IP address? I’ve tried different ways to list the IP address in the Hostname thinking that might be the problem… xx.xx.xxx.xxx/, and ftp://xx.xx.xxx.xxx/ What do I need to do?

Hi,

Everytime I upload the zipfile for Simple Catch Pro to my wordpress account, it gives me this error message:

“Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Theme install failed.”

I have checked and the stylesheet style.css” is included in the folder.

What needs to be done here?

I’m attempting to upload a recently purchased theme to my www.remarpro.com site but keep receiving the same error message. I am not sure what to do to resolve this as I am new to WordPress.

The theme I am trying to upload is called Solid WP – Corpotate/Business WordPress Theme and can be found here: https://themeforest.net/item/solid-wp-corporate-business-wordpress-theme/308585?WT.ac=search_thumb&WT.seg_1=search_thumb&WT.z_author=bitpub

When I downloaded the theme, it appeared in my Downloads folder in a folder file, not a zip file. So I right clicked and compressed the file into a zip file. When I upload the file to wordpress, I receive this message:

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Theme install failed.”

I do not know what to do resolve this and am hoping someone here may be able to discern between simple newbie error and complicated error and/or provide a step to take to try and resolve this problem.

Also, I do not know what version of WordPress I am using, but I signed up in the last month so I assume this means I am using the latest version.

WordPress keep telling me the style.css is missing, but I know for a fact there is a style.css in the zip file. Anyone have any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

Unable to create directory. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

A newbie question but when uploading either a theme or image/media I get the error message;

‘Unable to create directory. Is its parent directory writable by the server?’

I can upload stuff by ftp, but that doesn’t solve this. Any help appreciated.
