Can’t increase max upload limit!

Hi,

I recently installed Ubuntu 20.04 on a VPS, for the first time, and added Litespeed and Mariadb. Then installed WordPress under the ‘Example’ directory.

All went well. But now I have a WordPress site live, I cannot upload any plugins because the limit is set to 2mb!

= Which I cannot ever remember seeing before (2mb!)

I have used vim to increase the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini (in the Litespeed directory) AND increased the size in the wp-config BUT it still won’t allow me to upload files larger than 2mb!

AT that point, I tried installing a plugin that allowed me to directly edit the php limit, so I tried that (which told me I had been successful) but I STILL got the same limit error when trying to upload a 3mb plugin.

Can anyone tell me where this limit is being enforced?

I’m new to Ubuntu/Litespeed/LOMP so perhaps there is another file I don’t know of that’s restricting this?

We purchased the plugin to remove the limitation only to find out that the plugin does not work for us. We tested this across multiple WP installs, all of which were on different environments (localhost, inmotionhosting, a linode instance). We ended up having to do a manual migration since the plugin gets stuck when migrating the db. We have also tried to use the recommended 6.7 version but even that didn’t work. 3 hours in trying to make this work we asked for a refund only to be told that there is no such thing and they will not help in this regard. So be sure to test things thoroughly beforehand!

PostData field > Featured Image: not uploaded but no error shown

Hi,
While new editors were being trained yesterday, sometimes the files they selected appeared to be accepted and there was no error given when they submitted their post, but in the resulting draft post, there was no Featured Image. So the website admin doesn’t know there was supposed to be an image and the submitter doesn’t know their image is missing. I was unable to find out what kinds of images failed.
A 1.7M jpg works fine when I test it now. Maybe the files that failed were too big or the wrong kind, but they should have given some error indication.
I can find no specification for the filetypes allowed for Featured Image in PostData field, nor a way to limit file type or size.
Please tell me the requirements for the Fetaured Image upload so I can add this to the Description field on my form.

Unable to exceed Upload limit on android WordPress App

Hi, i’ve start to use the wordpress app a week ago and i’m facing a problem, i can’t upload an picture with a size more than 5MB. I know it’s the standard limit. I’ve change it in php.ini file and it work well if i upload from the website, but not from the app.
How i can fix this ? Is it possible ?

I attempted a very simple migration from LOCAL to one hosted by Bluehost.
1) I changed my upload limit both as per instructions by All-in-One and as per Bluehost’s instructions.
2) I still get a 64MB limit in the plugin.

I contacted All-in-one and they responded in minutes, which alone gives a 5 star rating.

Now, I do think that their could be an option to let me FTP the file myself and import from there with no file limit size. That would be roughly what Duplicator does. The advantage with All-in-one might be that you don’t have to worry about URL links as much. I have a couple of websites and will compare my process from a Local site to hosted with these over the next few weeks and see which I like batter. Still, kudos to the fast customer service.

The solution seems to be downloading an updated “import” plugin from: https://import.wp-migration.com/ (hopefully this URL won’t age out).

The only big minus is that there is a file upload limit in the free version. this could be severely crippling.

Hi. I’m using free hosting from 000Webhost and am trying to increase the file upload size so I can upload my videos to my WP theme. I edited the relevant file in my WP directory and also tried uploading the video file via ftp but neither has worked. The file upload size has indeed increased from 5mb to around 20mb (I think i set the max upload size in the code to 64mb), but I still cant upload my 30mb+ videos.

Does anyone have any suggestions of other ways I can troubleshoot this?

I wanted a 32M upload limit, so I entered the number 33569752. Immediately changed the upload limit message.
