I’m taking over a third party vendor who apparently did a lot with the code/plugin and added there own things in. They tell me they have to keep the site hosted where they are or it break the site. I’m essentially taking over SEO (Yoast), Google Analytics (which I had to start over and they used their own tool).
My desire is to start over, but that is not a choice by the client.
Your opinions and direction would be most helpful. I appreciate very much.
]]>Don’t immediately “upgrade” your plugins as soon as a plugin upgrade comes up – wait a week or two before you upgrade any plugin and watch for any bug reporting either in the WP directory or the author’s forum or support pages.
You’ll know when you review the forums if people are having difficulty because there’s always users who think you have to upgrade immediately. Even if you tell them not to….they’ll still upgrade immediately.
Believe me, you’ll be less frustrated and have more peace of mind by waiting.
Happy coding – RC
]]>Can anyone help me please?
I was simply updating some plugins last night and my site went down
https://www.newearthsanctuary.org.uk/
So I tried to put it into debug mode using the wp-config file and it did not respond
So I put the word disabled next to the plugin folder to disable all plugins through my FTP – nothing
So I went to each plugin and renamed them to add ‘disabled’ to each and every one of them – site did not respond
Contacted hosting company, they could fixed it and said they would get a technician and would call back later
4 hours later, this is there email – can anyone help me please
