What to do ?

]]>my client wants a cms to manage his website. I’m thinking about 2 options. One of them is WordPress.
The main problem is upgrade. My client isn’t interesting on learning about it.
So, if I have to upgrade every month, WordPress is not the right option.
How often is it supossed to upgrade?
Thanks a lot!
]]>Now, it appears to say just “Get WordPress 2.6” instead of “WordPress 2.5.1”.
I administer a dozen or so sites, some very lightly used, so they’re not all kept up to rev. [Mainly because I’ve had a couple of bad experiences with upgrades breaking plugins and I don’t always have time “right now” to track down all those issues. And, again these are very lightly used.]
I can read the “Get WordPress 2.6” at the top of the screen. I’d really like an easy way to find the current version (so I can estimate the level of difficulty of the upgrade). Could that be added to the default footer on the Dashboard at least?
Just a note though — you folks are doing a FABULOUS job at taking the pain out of the upgrade to WordPress itself. Thanks so much!
Apologies if this has already changed for 2.6 (but since even if I install it, it’ll be awhile before I can tell if it’s changed, I thought I’d post).
]]>I just downloaded the new version of wordpress, updated my /var tree, and ran the wp-admin/upgrade.php, which tells me no upgrade is required, my wordpress version is up to date.
So why, when I log in as admin to my blog, does wordpress throw up a bar that says “A new version of WordPress is available! Please update now?” Is the silly thing that unintelligent that it puts up the bar without checking its own version?
Thanks.
