I’m having a nightmare with WordPress right now. I’m in my CP, trying to update various plugins, but I’m getting this message –
“Forbidden You don’t have permission to access this resource.
Apache Server at www.placesandseasons.com Port 80″.
Can anyone please explain this message, and what I can do about it, in simple terms if possible? NB: ‘Placesandseasons.com’ is my website, & seems to be working ok, but I can’t update any of the plugins: https://www.placesandseasons.com/

I use to use the back button to find it but now all I can find is the page where I pick one website at a time. I have many. I need the url of the page where all of my websites are on one page and it checks what plugins are in need of update on all of my sites at once.

Backend Blank Pages – Issues with options.php?

Hi WP Community,

I’m having some issues on the backend of my site.

Every time I try to perform an action such as resave permalinks, activate a plugin or update its settings, I get a blank screen with options.php in the URL.

This issue started today or at least I noticed it today.

The actions I performed today:
– I activated .htaccess 301 redirects from inside Really Simple SSL
– deactivated redirects from Rank Math

Then I cleared the cache, tried to resave permalinks just to refresh the htaccess file and I got the blank screen with the url https://parmsyoga.com/wp-admin/options.php.

So I went back turned off the .htaccess 301 redirects, hit save settings, got the white screen with the same url.

I checked my htaccess file from the file manager, it doesn’t have the SSL code in it..

I cleared the cache, reactivated a plugin — froze at a longer URL but still containing options in it.

Then I reloaded my admin dashboard, saw that the plug in was active and went in to adjust the settings — tried to save, got served this white screen again.

I just went back in to take a look at the plugin settings and the settings are updated with the most recent changes I made.

Went back in to resave permalinks and I still get the white screen with this URL this time: https://parmsyoga.com/wp-admin/options-permalink.php.

I did make a manual change to my .htaccess file recently:
I added: Options -Indexes at the end of the file and left a blank line after that.

All in all, I have no idea what’s going on.

Internal Server Error 500 after Udating Plugins

Yesterday I updated some plugins on my WordPress 4.4.9 (I think). After the third update (don’t know which it was) there was an internal server error 500 on the admin page and all articles/posts, but not on the start page of the blog.
I tried everything: PHP Memory Limit, disable plugins, update wordpress core files and disable htaccess file.
Now i don’t have any clue, what I can do else. Could anyone help me with this issue?

Updating Plugins Gone Wrong

Hello,

I was updating some plugins and then was booted out of WordPress. Then I go to login again and get a screen that says it is the WordPress installation process?

Also when I search for the site it says safari cannot open the page because of too many redirects?

WHAT HAS HAPPENED? I have a really bad feeling that the entire site is gone or something?

Hello,

Ever since I installed WordPress version 4.8, I have not been able to update plugins normally. I have to use an FTP now. In addition, when I tried to update to the new WordPress version, I was unable. It seems as though I am not able to make new updates and changes to the website. Also, when I log out of the account, I can’t log back in even though I have the correct login information. Luckily I was logged in on another browser. I checked permissions and they are fine. I’m not sure what else it could be.

I welcome any suggestions on What I should try next.

how do I clear my cache? (plugin NOT updating!!!)

I’m trying to update my plugins. I can’t do it automatically. So for the first one, I downloaded WP Foro 1.11 and uploaded the files to my server overwriting what was there. But when I came back to WP admin, it still shows the old version.

So I’m thinking I may need to clear my WP cache. The problem is, I can find no setting at all to do this. Please help!

Getting Maintenance Message no matter what I click

I was updating 2 plugins, and it was taking a while, so I clicked on plugins > add new, thinking that I could do that while waiting for the 2 plugins to get updated, and this maintenance message below appeared

“Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute.”

and now no matter what I click or where I click, all I see is this maintenance message.

Help !!!

Enabling Maintenance Mode–for updating plugins–not working?

I have been trying fora fwe days to update several plugins and it just goes nowhere. Yes, the message says it may take awhile on some hosts, but it’s taken a longer than awhile now!
I updated my themes and to the latest WO version without a problem. Initially I had several plugins and tried to update all at once. When that timed out I tried one-at-a-time and the first one worked…none of the rest worked. I get no message saying the system has timed out, it just appears to be doing nothing. I am wondering if the system is not making it into maintenance mode–though why did the themes and WP update go perfectly?
Initially I had 12 plugins, then 11 and since then I deleted 2 so I still have 9 needing updates.

I also have had no problem adding new themes and plugins. Everything goes through my ftp and the only part not working is the plugin updates.

And yes, I backed up first.

Updating Plugins Breaks Menu

I updated woocommerce and yith wishlist which has done some weird stuff to my menu – any ideas how to fix my menu it looks like its been put into a shredder? www.mobilereactor.co.uk

EDIT: I have identified that it is yith wishlist that is causing the problem not woocommerce…
