I must say, with WP and Pods, things are a lot easier and more powerful!
I created 2 pods named “Books” and “MusicRecords” and created templates for each of them along with each their own pages to display the “entries” on the main site. Everything works fine so far (minus some things I will need to address later on…), but the issue I am facing is that the system doesn’t auto-generate a Unique identifier for each entry.
With Drupal, each time I created a new entry in one of the taxonomies (content types in Drupal verbiage), the system would automatically generate a unique number called NodeID which was auto computed and unique to each entry.
I would like to achieve the same in WP so I can tag each of the physical pieces with a unique number. Doesn’t matter what format it is, numeric, alpha-numeric, etc… As long as I can print a sticker with the UID on it. Fairly simple IMO but I cant find how to do this in WP. AFAIK, Drupal came out of the box with this.
Can this be done? I think what makes things a bit complicated is that I am using Pods to catalog my collections and not using standard web coding/static pages (excuse my crude understanding)…
I looked around on the web, and in Pods fields, none seems to offer anything similar. I could just add a text field and manually enter a UID in it, but that defeats the purpose of the UID.
I also tried to install the plugin “Print Barcode Labels for your WooCommerce products/orders” but I cannot make it work with pods (I dont think it was made to work with Pods…)
In a perfect world, the system would generate a UID, and I could print it from WP. Is this possible? Am I dreaming?
Looking forward to some replies! Cheers!
]]>It seems like the “content_ids” created for the catalog and used by the Pixel is created by a combination of the SKU of the product and the post-id of the product in the form “‘SKU’_’post-id'”. I think this is a problem, since if I want to change the SKU of the product, the Facebook for Woocommerce plugin will recognize this as a new product. Previously the “content_ids” have been created on the form “wc_post_id_xxx” – so I wonder why this has been changed, and whether there is a possibility to change this back or in another way make sure that the content_id stays the same even though the SKU is changed.
Because of this problem, the catalog I manage have the same products showing several times, because the same product now has 3-4 different content_ids in many cases.
I hope you can help in solving this issue, so we can make sure that products are not dublicated just because the product gets a new location on the warehouse.
Best regards,
Jesper
The part I need help with is that each employee will have their own customers. To aid their customers, the customer will be given the url to go visit and it has questions in the form of buttons etc etc etc. What I am doing is creating a customer fname lname and unique identifier. The unique identifier will be injected at the end of the url. That is what I need guidence on. IE
janedoe.domain.com/f4kgu8r
This way the customer just goes to this unique site and doesnt have to log in just answer the questions and my employee gets to receive the info and know who is answering what questions.

]]>First of all, a BIG thank you for your hard work on this plugin. It is easy to see that you spent a lot of hours on it and I really appreciate that.
Now, a couple of questions if you don’t mind.
I am crating a club of members for a .org so this plugin is perfect to allow them to maintain their data as well as do it myself if needed.
Do I need to have 2 or more identifiers for each record? Can I have them? SSN and email for instance, to avoid duplications. You know we are humans and make mistakes
I would need a member number too, but guess I can use the Record ID for that.
Also, how can i convert a text field into a number field to get it ordered? I have read about that but just don’t understand which part of the record I need to edit on phpmyadmin.
Sorry if this topic was already discussed, I am unable to find it.
Again xnau, thank you very much.
Have a nice day,
Joe

]]>I’m very new to WordPress and do not have a developer background. I apologize for the lack of technical description.
I’m creating a blog that would require a someone who wants to post to answer a series of questions, from that series of questions an identifier would be created and THAT would be the identifier used as their posting ID.
For instance, someone would be able to view the blog posts (or search by topic) and read the topic. Then, if they wanted to post, they’d be asked to register by asking a series of questions. From that set of questions a label like BATMAN would be created and the that BATMAN label would be their signature for all the posts.
Over time, the could re-answer the questions with the intention of changing the label, but that would be the only identifier.
Does that make sense? I’m not even sure of how to search for something like that? Any help with steering me to plugin that is out there or how to search for something like that?
Thanks for any help or guidance.
Philip
