I have done the following with some issues at the end:
This is probably due to the fact that the target database has a slightly different character set, which I found out from a competitor product that does not have such problems (because it is probably converted automatically?)
Here is a screenshot:
Thanks for your effort!

I’m currently in the process of setting up an image archive on one of my WordPress Pages. I migrated the galleries from an old Website and just discovered the Album feature along with the Album-in-Album feature.
However I noticed the following error:
When accessing an Album with Umlauts from the main Album, everything works fine. However when I then try to access a Gallery with Umlauts in said album, I get to a screen stating “No images found”.
The slug for the Album is set correctly with “ue” instead of “ü”, but the title lists the “ü”. The link it navigates to when clicking on the gallery does apparently not contain the slug, but instead the display name. When renaming the Album to also contain the “ue”, the reference works.
Is it possible to change this behaviour and use the Slug instead of the Display Name? Because the slug automatically transforms Umlauts to the safe versions.
As the Website is currently only accessible for members, I would have to create a new website to showcase this. However you should be able to reproduce this.
NGG is freshly installed and updated to the newest version. The Galleries are pre-existing and I moved them over by exporting the NGG-Database-Tables from the old page and importing them in the new Database. The Album I’ve created from Scratch.
]]>As it is now, search terms found at the beginning of a page are shown, but if the location of the fund is further down the page, the live results list doesn’t show the relevant part of the text, but simply the beginning of the text, regardless of it containing the search term or not.
How can I change this so that the live results list always shows the text excerpt in which the search term occurs?
Thanks,
Steve
I would need help using zotpress Plugin in WordPress Blog to show publications with highlighted author names. According to shortcode help the syntax should be:
[zotpress collection="GMGCJU34" highlight="Sagan, C."]
Unfortunately, as soon as the author has german umlauts in the name, it does not work, e.g.: [zotpress collection="GMGCJU34" highlight="P?hlitz, J."]
Can anybody help, or give me advice where to look?
Thanks in advance,
Mike
]]>After the last update of the Editor Plus plugin I had problems with the display of umlauts ?, ?, ü…, especially in block columns.
At the moment I have installed the previous version of the plugin again, so that the error is fixed for now.
Do you have experience or can you help me here?
Thanks a lot,
Julie
]]>In our project, we auto-create Image Titles and Alt-Text from image-file-names. We use custom diacritic word replacements to re-establish German Umlauts and special character.
As our list is growing quickly, I would like to know whether it also works with partial matches. Say I would like to re-establish the letter ?, whenever the string aermel is found.
Instead of explicitly adding every possible word and case (aermel, aermeln, aermels, spitzenaermel) … is there a way to add just the relevant subset of the word?
In my sample, the snippet *aerm* would do – and it also worked for laerm and waermflasche. Hence – we could serve all cases with a far shorter list.
]]>is there a way to get umlauts (?, ?, ü) working? Everytime I try to save a store-name with an umlaut it’ll be converted. For example “M?ve” will be converted to “Mu00f6ve”. How can I fix this problem?
best regards and thank you very much in advance for your help!

]]>thanks for the great plugin!
Apparently there as an issue with Germanized handling URLs with Umlauts in the Shop-Emails. Example: Order confirmation email, line at the bottom: “Vielen Dank, dass Sie “XYZ” verwenden”. Please have a look at this screenshot of the Email html:

Any hints on how to fix this?
Thanks so much!
