Migrating from non-WordPress site, can I import with csv?

I would like to retain the SEO from my old site as I migrate to WordPress from Umbraco. I can format a .csv file (from a site crawl); is there some format I can emulate that would allow me to import?

I need help, badly..

I am setting up a new website, using the system Umbraco.

However, I am not happy with all the functionality in Umbraco as I am setting up a blog, and therefore I am setting up a blog as part of the site, but using WordPress.

How do I integrate both these sites in one existing domain, is it even possible?

And no, I can’t not use Umbraco, as this particular project is pre-defined as using it, so my hands are tied as far as that goes.

Running IIS and WAMP side by side, but independently

Currently, we have our site running on Umbraco on a Windows server. I’d like to run a subdomain on the same server, but on WordPress running a WAMP configuration. Is this possible? From what I’m seeing, as long as the two webservers are config’d to use different ports (i’m thinking i’ll run WAMP on 8080) that they should be fine.

I would also be open to running WordPress on IIS as well, but I’m not sure if there’s any downside. Do plugins still work the same between different platforms and databases? I’m thinking of some of the security plugins i’ve seen.

any thoughts?

WordPress running within umbraco

Hi everyone,

I have a pretty advanced question. I’ve installed wordpress on a .NET server running umbraco and added the blog in a subfolder called “blog”.

Surprisingly, it runs! and I managed to import the old blog into it.
What my problem is, that the umbraco configuration overrides whatever PHP defaults there once were there and my links don’t work.

I need to make index.php as the default page. I’ve added it on IIS7 but due to umbraco configuration default.aspx remains the correct one.
As a result going to www.mydomain.com/blog/ crashes. I need to manually enter www.mydomain.com/blog/index.php in order to make it work.

Has anyone tried installing wordpress in an umbraco project before and if so, what sort of web.config configuration in Umbraco can make the blog work properly again?

How to import the database from Umbraco CMS? I can not see how to do that anywhere? I want to get all the articles mainly from the Umbraco CMS system.
