Twitter card not showing featured image

Hi,
I believe I configured AIOSEO properly to show the featured image of blog posts I tweet, but every single time I get the blog’s logo, not the featured image.

How can I correct that please?

My AIOSEO settings:
activated twitter card
selected summary with large image
source of image = featured image
left the default image blank (since it would change with each post)

Nada, I get the blog’s logo as the twitter image…

Social Image Share Not Working Yoast 17.0 Premium

I recently updated Yoast and Yoast Premium to 17.0

After updating the plugin Facebook and Twitter are no longer sharing images from newly published pages, as well as for some older posts.

This is the most recent post: https://www.urevolution.com/recovering-from-an-eating-disorder/ and the second most recent https://www.urevolution.com/what-does-it-mean-to-choose-our-own-bodies/

Using the Facebook Sharing Debugger app revealed the following:

“Warnings That Should Be Fixed
Inferred Property – The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
Missing Properties -The following required properties are missing: og:url, og:type, og:title, og:image, og:description, fb:app_id”

This same error message appeared for some of the older posts as well – https://www.urevolution.com/college-eating-disorders-recovery/ – but not for others https://www.urevolution.com/do-i-have-body-dysmorphia-or-am-i-just-fat/

Set featured image as Facebook/Twitter image if available

I know this isn’t an option yet, that’s why I’d like to see if there’s a work-around for it.

I would like an option in the Slim SEO settings to automatically pull the “featured image” of a post/page as the Facebook and Twitter image. If the post/page doesn’t have a featured image it should instead fall back to the basic settings (replacement Facebook/Twitter image set in Slim SEO settings).

Can this be done at the moment?

Hi there,

I am using the latest Yoast Premium plugin version 14.5 with the latest WordPress version(5.4.2) and the new Gutenberg editor.

In the post preview the og:image and twitter:image tag are not generating. Previously with the old version it was working fine.

Can you please look over this issue .

Does Twitter card use og:image while posting posting on Twitter?

A featured image of 128×128 is seen in og:image but not in twitter:image meta.
While sharing this link the image doesn’t fit in the Tweet screen.

I am using summary + large image in Yoast SEO Twitter config. I don’t see twitter:image meta in the source files

Any help appreciated

I have Yoast set to “summary with large image” as the default Twitter card. However, all posts are showing the summary only (small images). This is true regardless of how I post to Twitter (e.g., direct Tweet of a link, using the sassy social share twitter button, or when auto-posting from Jetpack).

I’ve been in touch with Jetpack and they’ve told me this is an issue with Yoast. I am hoping that you can help me to resolve this issue, thank you!

Image on Twitter Cards for translated URL

Hi,

I have Twitter accounts associated with the translated versions of my website.

However, when I try to validate a URL for posting to Twitter at https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator, the link and story summary headline appear correctly but the featured image associated with the URL does not appear on the tweet as part of the Twitter Card.

The untranslated link works fine and generates a headline, summary and image as a tweet from the link url.

Any ideas? I am not a techy so if possible, please explain in terms a wordpress user – editor can understand. is there a plug in or setting on wordpress or your plugin that can fix this? Kind regards, Stuart

The URL above is showing a Twitter image which is not associated with this post.
How do we stop this behavior from happening and how do we upload a new image on a per-post basis?

This official plugin from twitter only allows you to add 3 meta tags to your WP post:
twitter:site (your twitter username)
twitter:title (title of WP post)
twitter:description (first 140-280 chars of the WP post)

The plugin does not generate twitter:image. So when the URL for your WP post is tweeted, I assume an image is not included in the tweet. I did not actually test this on my production website, but I could see there was no twitter:image element in the WP rendering of the localhost post.
