I tweaked a theme but found out that in wp-admin the editor still shows the old style. Why? How can I change it so the editor shows the same thing as the frontend?

Two questions: scaling and dates

Hey there, great theme! I am using this as the basis for a site I am designing, but am struggling with a couple of things:

– When the theme reacts to a smaller screen size, a hamburger menu appears at the top right that I don’t want. How do I get rid of that?

– Posts have two dates listed on them: one for created, and one (in parenthesis) for the published date. I want to get rid of the created one, but I can’t seem to find the PHP function that creates it: I think it is nirmala_date_published, or something similar. Where is this function?

Disable ELEMENTOR on specific pages (pro-version)

Hi all,

is it possible via hook or filter, to completely disable ELEMENTOR on specific pages? What is the earliest when Elementor prepares itself and the loading?

I have a Buddypress network and some pages do NOT require any ELEMENTOR stuff, so even disabling elementor in the backend works when loading those pages.

So I want to replicate that behaviour in the frontend specifically on some pages – BECAUSE right now, elementor loads all its js/css files on every page. I want to avoid that!

global color changes in child theme (Penscratch theme)

Although I’m using Penscratch theme, I think my question would relate to others trying to modify the look of a theme using a child theme. I’m replacing a color used in the Penscratch theme (#1c7c7c, a medium teal color) with a shade of gray (#666666). I’ve used a text editor & searched the parent css file for all mentions of the original color, copied those commands to my child css file and changed the color to #666666. That was a lot of work, and I’m not sure if I add widgets if these color schemes will carry over (I’m guessing that they won’t). So, my question is two-fold: 1) how to I make global color changes in my child theme that will withstand updates and additions of new widgets, etc., and 2) how do I make global changes like this in an easier manner? Is it through the child’s php file? I’d love to know how to use a global ‘replace’ command…

Any resource references, general comments are welcome.

I’ve a query and thought to ask on this forum. I’ll be highly grateful if you’re able to solve this!

There is 1 image inside every post called the featured image.

If you look you’ll see that I put it after every second paragraph.

Android.gs puts one image inside every post.

If you look the image is located at the beginning of the post and between the sidebar and the single post.

My Theme Specifications:
Main Theme: Genesis Framework
Child Theme: Genesis Sandbox Theme

Removing unneessary js/css from nextgen

I am running the latest version of everything (NextGen & WP).

I am only interested in a basic ImageBrowser without even ajax for paging. I’d love it for it run as lean and mean as possible but I noticed that nextgen loads tons of extra css & js files.

Is there a way to just tell it not to load anything except whatever’s necessary for imagebrowser?

None of the optimization plugins I tried seem to make a difference. Maybe NextGEN is overkill if all I need is a simple image browser (wordpress gallery would’ve even worked if it supported pagination).

Would love to get some insight.

The Little Things

hey, I just started WordPress for the first time last week. It’s a bit of a learning curve from the web design that I remember from school. So I have my Theme. I can change some things, but not others.

I don’t like any of the three font options that my Theme offers. Is there a way to import more font options?

Also, how do I change the color of my text page? Not the page background (i know how to do that), but the background of the page the words sit on, which always seems to be white.. I would prefer something off white, but I can’t figure out how to change the color value for that.

Some may say, pick another Theme. I spent 3 days selecting my Theme. Themes seem to have one thing then not another. I don’t want to waste time on picking a Theme. I picked a pretty simple Theme. I don’t need to do too much. There’s got to be a way of tweaking this theme.

MyTreasures plugin alternatives or customization help

Are there any more generic alternatives to the Mytreasures plugin or has anyone done any tweaking of it to suit a different use case?
I’m creating a gardening plant database and I’d like to tweak a few things such as remove the cd and movie database and rating system parts, and change the names of the media search categories, for instance the category “Covers” I’d like to rename to “Images”.

Anyone have some experience with customizing this plugin or using an alternative?
