We have a cPanel server at WestHost and we recently set up a very small WordPress site at https://www.this-is-our-domain-1.co.uk

We did this before I got into things and found out about staging sites etc., so setting this up on a spare domain we had seemed like the right thing to do.

OK, so our small site was running fine, and we wanted to transfer it to its final destination.

I went into cPanel and changed the configuration in Softaculous (ie, the directory and URL). I didn’t need to change the database name, database user or password as these would all remain the same.

I also moved all the WordPress files to their new directory on the server.

I have also checked wp-config.php but there doesn’t look like there’s too much in there that needs changing.

However, when I visit our new url https://www.this-is-our-domain-2.co.uk all I see is a basic configuration with none of our content.

Furthermore, when I try to visit https://www.this-is-our-domain-2.co.uk/wp-admin/ all I get is a 404 error, as it’s trying to take me to the old domain.

I’m sure there’s a setting that needs changing somewhere, but I’m getting out of my depth.

Any help anyone could give me would be very much appreciated.

The current upload is stuck at 100%, I have tried several recent versions of the plugin and also rolled back WordPress to v4.9.9 to see if it makes a difference.

I read through your guide about being stuck at 100%, I have checked the php.ini settings and all looks good!

No good so far!

Some of my downloads are not working as when I checked the url it is still pointing to the old database. If there is a dlm specific key to edit, I am not able to find it.
Some downloads are still working.
Can someone help me fix this?

Is it possible to merge a client’s entire website from one host over to WordPress without having to download alot of plug-ins and having to develop the entire website all over again

If I have a site running Shield and I transfer it to another host using the Duplicator plugin, will Shield run fine in the new location with no changes, do I need to deactivate it and reactivate etc?

I am currently rebuilding my website with a localhost. I’m looking for a good way to transfer al the changes and information in localhost to my live website. Including theme and customizations, plugins and settings.

I found out the Duplicator plugin should be a good way to do this. Does anybody know if this plugin is indeed a good way to transfer everything (including installed pluging etc.) to my live website?
