I’m so confused. After downloading wordpress 4.2.2 via my bluehost account, the confirmation email from the download entails my new admin url, which directs me to my old wordpress.com admin page. I simply cannot access this download, and the credentials I’ve been given are invalid. wtf.

I noticed today on one of my blogs that underneath the title where the tag line is someone had gone in and put their name.

I opened up another blog to see what was the procedure to do this. Looks really simple. However when I go to the first site, the one that was hacked, and look in that same spot- where the tag like is, it is unchanged.

The hacker somehow made changes- put her name in- in such a way as it’s only visible and unchangeable.

My questions are:

1. Is this hopeless? Is it impossible to change that?

2. Is there a way I can take all the text and everything on my blog and easily transport it to a new on? In a sense, abandon the one she’s hacked?

Trouble Importing xml file from old blog

Hi, I am trying to import the xml document that I exported from my old wordpress.com blog and cannot. Somehow the page cannot be opened and the process just stops because of that. Not sure what is going on. Any idea why the page would have trouble opening when trying to do this? Thanks!

Transferring blog–doesn't recognize transfer or username

I have just switched to a self hosted blog and am at the point of actually “transferring” the blog. I went to my old wordpress.com login/dashboard, went to my blogs, clicked on transfer blog, but when I type in my email address that my www.remarpro.com is registered to, it tells me it can’t “transfer the blog to that username”. Any help or advice?! Thank you!!

Can new WP site have pages that are other sites?

Hello – I gather it’s possible to integrate existing websites with a new WordPress website, but I’d be grateful for some clarification…
(I’m not yet sure which version of WP I’ll be using, but assume it will be possible to download the most recent)

Can I have a main site, but also integrate existing sites into its pages, as in the two examples below?
1. e.g. Can I have ABC.co.uk as my main site, but one page on that site might be called DEF and would link it to an existing website that I have called JKL.co.uk (so if visitors click on the ‘DEF’ page they are automatically transported to JKL.co.uk). Does this still apply even if the JKL.co.uk was not built on WP platform?
2. e.g. ABC.co.uk is main site, but I want one of pages to be my GHI.wordpress.com blog. So, can I set it so that the ‘blog’ page I set up on ABC.co.uk automatically directs users to my GHI.wordpress.com blog?
3. Further to example 2 above, could I transfer existing blog data to the ABC.co.uk website? – so that the new blog address could be ABC.co.uk/blog (for example)?

I have a WordPress.com Blog with many posts and pages on it. I want to transfer this to www.remarpro.com. Then I will be able to install an opt in form and autoresponder from my account at AWeber.

I have been trying to do this for the last 2 weeks with no success. Is there a support group at www.remarpro.com that can walk me through what needs to be done?

I am a little overwhelmed. If I had some money I would just pay someone to do it.

Unfortunately, I am pretty much broke, so you all get to deal with me.

I already have a blog through Bravenet (pro – paid service) and I want to move all my posts over to my new WordPress. Is that possible? If so and you proceed to tell me, please speak “dumb English”

Do I need to move my old blog to my WP before I move it to my host? or after?

Can I move my WP to my host before it goes live? (I still haven’t figured out how to transfer my domain name over to my host – yeah, pathetic)?

Any and all advice you can offer is greatly appreciated!
