Is Yoast trying to tell us something?

On a new site, with Version 17.1 installed, I notice that the | is missing.

Hi. I’ve recently updated to the latest Yoast SEO version (free version) on my own site and a number of others I look after.

My preferred meta title separator is ‘|’ but I’ve noticed it is no longer an option since I have updated to the latest version. Do you know why that might be? Is it something I have done, or is it possible to reinstate it?

Vertical bar is disappeared in title separator

Hello,

I was using Vertical bar “|” as title separator in setting. However, when I updated this time, it disappeared. And it changed to the the hyphen “-“.

I am using translatepress plugin to translate all the SEO title. This update makes all of my websites’s page SEO title translate gone.

Will you guys please give me back my Vertical bar as title separator?

After the last update, the “|” separator I needed disappeared in the “Display in search results” settings. Return the separator “|”. I am not satisfied with dashes, hyphens and dots!

Bring back the | removed separator

The | is used too often, so wordless removal with an update is unacceptable. You could instead point out the circumstance with Google by double confirmation.
How do I get the | back?

Title separator problem

I use All In One SEO plugin together with POLYLANG translation plugin. On all language homepages incl. english which is default language, I see the title separator which looks unprofessional and awful. I contacted POLYLANG support but they think its problem of All in One SEO plugin.

Example of english homepage SEO title: “This is my blog |”
and this separator character repeats on each language page.

I have deleted the separator for title inside inside the Title settings for All In One SEO plugin at the beginning and the separator is still there on every page title also on English homepage that is teh default language. This happens with all 3 blogs where I use Polylang plugin.

Can someone help with this ?

Strange characters in TITLE

I face following issue with Polylang:

All translated pages have in SEO title the following character at the end of line: |
So in fact in Google SERP and it looks weird for example:
“This is translated page title |”

I use All in ONE SEO plugin but didnt find anything strange in the option settings.

Removing the hyphen from the Title

There’s a hyphen appearing after the Title on the homepage, and I’d like to remove that. Should be simple, but when I looked in the header-hooks.php file I didn’t see anything that looked like it might be responsible for this. I only need it removed from the homepage. The template file that it’s using is home.php if that helps.

Double pipe in title separator

Hi, we have been using the pipe symbol as the title separator. The setting in both our SEO plugin and this wonderful WPSSO plugin has always been like that. However, recently we discovered that the pipe has become a double pipe. So instead of, for example, Defending Against Cancer | Tea Guardian becomes Defending Against Cancer | | Tea Guardian when shared, as in this page: https://www.teaguardian.com/tea-health/defending-against-cancers/

I have no idea when this began to happen, perhaps only a few days ago. The SEO package haven’t had an update for some time. The only two other updates related to this are WordPress 4.4 to 4.4.1 and the previous update of WPSSO. Any clue?
