Since then, I noticed the theme is no longer displaying an author or version in the theme panel of the dashboard. Instead of the author’s name (C. Bavota) it simply says “Anonymous”. And there is no version indicated.
I have the same theme, same version (3.0.4) installed on my local developer site (MAMP) but it displays the author name and version correctly. It is not asking me to update.
I posted a briefer query in the MB theme support forum earlier today but wanted to updated with info about the author name disappearing. Also, I have since tested with the WordFence security plugin and it did not detect any malware or security problems. Still,
I’m wary about this (unnecessary) “update” I’m being asked to do in case it’s not legit.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

]]>I would like to remove the author of a theme from my admin area (wp-admin). So I’m not talking about the footer of the website but about the administration area.
In the section called Appearence > Themes there are the installed themes listed, each one with the author underneath. For instance, below the Twenty Eleven theme there is the text “By the WordPress team”
How do I remove that or replace it with something else? In what php or css do I have to make the modification?
Thanks,
Larry
