Show FB text-only posts without image box

Hi all,

Plugin is directed at a FB page, and is displaying posts on my WP site okay.

But at the moment, text-only posts are displaying with a cloudy blue box in place of the image–because there’s no image for those posts. I can find a setting to display just the text of all posts. But what I want is a) images displayed for posts with images, and b) just the text displayed (no image placeholder box) for text-only posts.

Can’t manage to find that in themes or customization. Feel free to check the site to see what I mean. All I can find are ‘show no images’ or ‘show an image box for everything even if there’s no image’.

Admin CSS suddenly not loading

This website suddenly stopped working. Calling up the website and the WP admin page both gave a database error. The site is hosted on IONOS, and a call to their support team got the site pointed to the right database, so it is working now. The WP Admin page, however, is not – styles are not loaded and links lead to blank pages. So basically the admin area is nonfunctional. I tried using suggestions found here to no avail (a forum post and M. Novotny’s article).

The site was built on my own server and migrated to IONOS eight months ago, replacing an existing, outdated site. The database issue may have been related to this, but the site and admin backend did both work fine until only a few days ago.

A major issue is surely the outdated PHP; the current version is 5.6, which was inherited from the old site. (I have no answer for why I did not update this when moving the site.)

I cannot upgrade WordPress, or do anything with WordPress at the moment. I know I have to upgrade the PHP and update WordPress, but the IONOS world is not like the CPanel I know so well. IONOS told me my WordPress problems are a WordPress thing, since they did not do the installation.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should proceed?

Missing Icons

I’m having an issue with this plugin and I can’t figure out why. I have 2 identical XP Pro desktop’s and one shows the default social media icons correctly but the other computer only shows the text. Both machines are running the same version of Firefox but getting two different results. I tried it on my laptop with Firefox and it is also missing the icons.

I also tried using MS Edge v83.0.478.50 on the laptop and I got boxes for icons but at least something tried to show up. Still not correct. I’m going to guess and say this started around v9 of the plugin. I rolled back to v9 and it didn’t fix the issue. I hope you can help … TIA

Showing Text Only

I recently downloaded the Under Construction Plugin for my site. I switched it on after I edited the content. I see that it is working, but the theme I selected in the plugin is not showing. It is raw text only when you search the site. How do I make the design look like what it is showing when I preview it in WordPress. I have activated the design I want already.

I have a web site that appears with the dashoard in a text mode. GUI/UI seems corrupted. I’ve read some guidances about editing wp-config.php, but nothing seems to solve it.

-disable all plugins

Google search result shows confusing text content of my website – why?

Hi!
Searching for ‘webprogrammierer’ in Google displays confusing text content for the landing page of my website ‘derwebprogrammierer.at’ (4th result).
Search results for all other areas of my website are displayed according to my YOAST optimization (see https://www.google.at/search?q=derwebprogrammierer.at).
Why does YOAST not seem to have any effect on how the Google search result is displayed for the landing page of my website?

Elementor frontend editor loading “text only”

My website is having an issue with a plugin called Livemesh addon, making it impossible to edit pages with elementor plugin. so I have deactivated this addon to be able to work on the elementor editor again. But now the frontend editor has a very strange layout as below image:

I have re-installed the addon, no change, have deactivated it again, and still above issue.

Extract without formatting text

Is there a way to just extract the text of the article without all the formatting? My results are coming back great, but the formatting is a mess. Text only would be great, any ideas?

Hi,
I installed wordpress on a raspberry Pi 3 (I do not need to have access to the webserver from outside my network, I want to use it to drive two screens as a narrow casting system at our school) , using their tutorial (here, and running wordpress on the pi itself is flawless.
However, when I open wordpress form another PC with the ip address from the Pi, I only get a textual representation. What’s even stranger, if I want to go into ip address/wp-admin, I get a page stating access is not allowed?
Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Hover Over Text Only (No Image) to Reveal More Text

I would like to create a hover effect similar to the one on this page at the top (the three circles with ‘General Effects’, ‘Square Effects’ and ‘Button Effects’):

I would like to use squares instead of circles. I’m looking for an effect which allows you to hover over the Title text, to reveal the Description text, without using any images (i.e. the text appears on a CSS coloured background only). Would I need the Pro version to do this? It looks like what I need is under “Style 31” on the “General Effects” menu. Please could someone confirm whether this is the case?
