Link a text field to a drop down menu

I attended a WP class earlier this year and was shown how to make a body text item into multiple selectable links in the form of a drop down menu. Unfortunately I have forgotten how this was achieved and have had no success trying to find out by searching. What I remember was highlighting a word and making into a link. Then additional links could be added and indented to the right to create the drop down. Then when you click the word (or preferably hover over it) the drop down items are shown and one can be selected. My intention here is to create links to several Anchors on the same page.

I’m using the Astra theme Gutenberg editor and Safari browser on a MacBook Pro M1. All latest OS & versions.

Can the amount of text links you have in your footer affect Page Load Speed?

Hi everyone,

I am just interested to know if the amount of Text Links you have in your Footer affects the speed in which your web page loads?

I have created a web page with about 29 text links in the footer and the page is loading slowly. I have heard some people say that the amount of text links you have in your footer and the size of the your footer has no effect on page speed. Is this true?

And in terms of Page Speed would it be better to have four widgets in the footer area instead?

Click Open Trigger Conflicts with Divi Builder

Morning, friends.

Just a quick note to offer an assist to anyone (including devs) using the Divi Builder who now find their Click Open triggers no longer open in Divi. The conflict is in a recent update to Divi where anchors(#) are now handled differently.

The easy fix is to add a slash(/) before the anchor(#) in the text/image link. So the previous “#popmake-123” trigger is now “/#popmake-123”. Works like a dream.

Affilate text links using Short Code > remove blank line?

First, thank you for this plugin. I’ve been using it for years.

I want to use affiliate links more often in my posts and organize them using this plugin. I was thinking using the Short Code Ads future for this. However, it ads an extra blank line before the code.

So can I use WP insert to ad text-links within the text content of a post? Can I somehow remove the extra blank line?

Text label for colour swatches showing in main page

Using “Smart Variation Swatches for WooCommerce PRO” I have created a colour attribute. When adding the widget to filter by that colour attribute, a text link for each colour variation is showing on the main section of the site, behind the product images (most notable when filtering products to see only 1 – as shown here: https://simple-lines.co.uk/shop-2?smart_taxonomy=pa_orientation&slug_terms=landscape)

I wish to show only the colour swatches in the sidebar menu, without text links.

Completely breaks with WordPress 5.4.2

I’ve just found a massive issue with this plugin after updating. And after isolation testing in my development environment confirmed it is this plugin.

Running WordPress 5.4.2, PHP version 7.3.17. Gallery-Custom-Links works fine with v1.2.5. However, if I update to v1.2.6 or 1.2.7, then index.php loads indefinitely (multiple browsers: Chrome, Chromium, Firefox), CPU and RAM usage massively increases on the server, and eventually my host will throttle my page due to resource exhaustion.

As suggested in this similar topic I tried DiDom, no difference.

No errors in Javascript console. This appears to be the only relevant PHP error (some identifiable information removed):

Hi,

Is there a way I can make the product name that appears in the cart not link? Currently when you add a product in the cart, the cart shows the product name as a text link but doesn’t link to anywhere. Would rather get rid of the link all together and just show as text.

I don’t know any CSS. How do I change the color of my links in the text on my pages? I assume I need to add some sort of code to my CSS editor? The links should be this color and underlined: #a82138.

Counting links doesn’t work

I’d like to use the “count text links” feature, but it just doesn’t do anything. I click on the “count links” button, the popup opens… but nothing happens. What’s the problem?
