I’m creating a theme and now I got stuck. I cannot add any images. I tried to add into a blog, header… and dont work. The Error is the same: Missing a temporary folder..

I searched to fix and and I created the temp folder at wp-content and also updated the w-config.php. I added the line
define('WP_TEMP_DIR', dirname(__FILE__) . '/wp-content/temp/');
right above the /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy publishing. */ comment.

Also the folder wp-content have all Permitions set to all users. Can write, read, execute, modify…

I don’t know what to try or do now.

I’ve already added the following line to the wp-config.php file:
define(‘WP_TEMP_DIR’, dirname(__FILE__) . ‘/wp-content/temp/’);

I’ve also added a “temp” folder to the /wp-content/ folder and changed permissions as recommended in https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-fix-file-and-folder-permissions-error-in-wordpress/

But I’m still getting the “missing a temporary folder” error!!!

I figure I should probably begin this query by apologizing, because I know this issue comes up a lot. I mean a lot. I spent the best part of today scouring the web for various solutions (none of which appeared to work) and it seems as though different servers and different server organisations require different solutions, so I thought I’d pose the question here!

Anyway, I’m a brand new user to WordPress and after some troubles with a White Screen of Death, I managed to get WordPress and some plugins functioning on my site using the manual / five minute install (my host doesn’t have a 1 click install option). Everything has been running smoothly until today I was editing a post and went to insert/upload an image, only to be met with the ‘missing temporary folder’ issue. The host server is a sftp server running on nginx. The vast majority of solutions I could find on the net involved editing the php.ini file, which I do not have access to, or the public_html folder which is apparently non-existent. I’ve included a screenshot of how the site displays in Filezilla in case I just have a shocking case of newbie mistake.

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong spot, but I figured it would be best to go straight to the source when querying this!

Is there anyone who has a recent solution to this for WordPress 4.2 ?

All solutions I have seen so far is at least one year old and does not seem to work at all?

My host says the problem is with WordPress and vice versa.
The issue is this: when I try to upload an image, I get a ‘missing a temporary folder error’. And that sucks because I found some really stunning free stock photos I want to use.

Solutions I tried so far (without succes):
– creating a wwwtemp folder map
– changing wp-config.php permissions to 775 and next to 777, and the same for the ‘uploads’ folder, according to advice I found somewhere
– adding this line of code to the wp-config.php:
define(‘WP_TEMP_DIR’,’/tmp’);

Is there anybody out there with really great advice for an IT-dummie?
I am just a humble copywriter from Belgium, Europe.
A solution would be totally awesome and much appreciated.
Like that I can continue my design.
