still use php edit template

years ago I made template, still works. Now need change image in template. Found my template php in wp-content/uploads/PDF_EXTENDED_TEMPLATES
I modify image link in section ‘htmlpageheader’
But seems nothing change. Go in Plugin -> Templates -> view and image is still old one.

Problem is I can’t find how to customize any other page than the homepage. Looked at the template’s files but still puzzled.

Apply template based on if it’s an existing or a new post

I’m redisigning a web with thousands of posts and custom post types. The original site was made with a traditional theme before FSE. I’m developing a block child theme for it, I have to respect the existing content. So I need to keep certain plugins and functionality. But to give the new child theme a better user experience, I need to differentiate the existing content from the new content. My question is: Is there a way to apply a template to existing (old) posts and another template to new created posts? The two approaches I can think of are to apply a different template based on the date of creation, or to automatically assign to new created posts a certain category and automatically apply a different template to posts with that category. If someone can help with one of the two possibilities or has a different approach, I will appreciate their advice. Thanks!

I’ve seen others struggle with the same issue but have yet to find a straight answer to how to make it work.

I’m using the WP theme Twenty Twentyfour in combination with Pods and have created a CPT with custom fields. In Twenty Twentyfour, you can easily create templates for individual posts and archives. Templates work as intended for individual posts, including auto templates. However, I still need to figure out a solution for archive templates. The archive is certainly displayed, but only, e.g., regular headings.

I have activated the Excerpt option in the “Advanced Tab ” and tried enabling “Auto template” with “Filter: the_excerpt.”

So the Pods Blocks display nothing, and nor does the Auto template.

My idea is to use IF conditional tags to show with an icon, e.g., if some PDF document is attached to the post (one of the custom fields).

As an experiment, I have now tried the Plugin “Meta Field Block,” and for some reason, that works, but the native Pods blocks don’t. Of course, I would like to get the native Pods blocks to work, even in the Archive templates, but how?
