i’m new to the forum and i hope you can help me. I hope I can you understand what i whant to do. my english isn’t that good.
I use the wp symposium forum (the previous version of wp symposium pro). I use this forum plugin because all the other forum plugins i have tried did’t work well in combination with the ulitmate member plugin.
what i want to do is: if someone posts a new topic than the system should send an email to the users with the roles Administrator and Moderator.
The best solution would be to relate different Categories to different moderators to send the notification to the moderator of this category but I think it is not possible without getting really deep into the whole code structure. But where and how can i say: when a new forum topic is started, send an email to [email protected].
I changed some stuff in the code before and I think I could understand what i see if i know where to look for it
If someone knows another forum plugin that works well with the ultimate member plugin, and where i could connect different users to different Categories and to handle the notifications i would be glad to hear about it. but i spent so many time in searching for forum plugins and i couldn’t find anything working like expected..
so the best way would be to find a solution to handle the moderator notification.
thank you for your help
]]>I would first like to say that this is a great plugin, it works just fine in my main menu. The issue I am having is that it does not work with WP Symposium Toolbar, which uses menus to create a nav bar at the top of the page. You can see what I mean at www.lazymas.com/staging/, you will also notice that in the left nav menu you will see the active cart. I need the same exact thing, just located in the upper right side of the top bar. If there is any way you could point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.

]]>We have a custom theme on the basis of TwentyEleve.
We are currently busy altering the site https://secretaressepool.nl into a webshop through WooCommerce. However. we wish to hava visitors contact each other without initially seeing each others e-mailaddress.
Therefore we also downloaded WP Symposium.
WP Symposium states that the current theme needs to be reset to default.
Does that mean that the current lay-out of the site will totally be altered?
Or will the lay-out remain as is, and ‘only’ the features necessary for WP Symposium be actived?
Thanks so much for your answer and solution.
Best regards,
FS1
I would take this to the WP Symposium forum, but I am supporting a Bronze member who is trying to get your plugin to work – and I am not a member over there. Also several links to your admin manual go to a Dropbox 404 page – not found.

]]>Another issue. If I enable the custom style settings for WPS Blogpost then it interferes with the theme style settings elsewhere on the site. This only seems to happen with the links colour, but that’s quite annoying. Do you have any thoughts on how to modify the style settings so that it doesn’t interfere with anything but WPS?
Thanks,
Andrew

]]>As you can see, the links of the plugin aren’t positioned correct. How can I reposition these links (I would like to position them upward).

However it was promptly locked. So I shall repeat my question.
Plug-in’s and Theme used: P2 theme, WPSymposium
I’d like anybody who’s registered through my site, and who leaves a comment on any post, to have their name clickable next to that comment and it will link to their profile created by WPSymposium (or even wordpress profile as symposium should forward subscriber roles automatically). This should overwrite any html link they may already have attached to their author name.
Anybody know how I would go about doing this, in a similar method to the above post link?

]]>When I look for the file, it is not in media library and seems to be hidden?!?
I can upload to the media library, and post attachments to the blog posts just fine–just not in Symposium Forums.
I am using WordPress 2010 Theme, along with a few plugins–such as Custom Upload Directory, Mass Messaging in Buddypress, (it was installed at one time), Metronet Profile Picture, WordPress Download Monitor, WP Members, among a few others.
I am wondering if I may have a plugin conflict issue, or is this something deeper? I must admit to being a novice at WordPress, so ANY assistance would be most appreciated.
]]>I’m just doing some research around to find the best approach to achieve the following:
Need to setup a “portal” where preschool teachers can add a post and share it with specific usergroups or even just a user (parent) or public, which the parent, could log onto the same portal, “user type parent?”, and on the blog page, only sees public posts and whatever was shared with (school->”usergroup?”, private “only himself or public “available to all schools”). So, basically, a teacher for school A, add a post that might contain a PDF that the parent can open/save etc… and only makes it visible for Parent->123. On school B, teacher adds a new post, makes it available only for school B etc…
If you guys get the picture… I’ve got a couple of plugins that might do the trick with a big of template coding, just thought to ask around and rear from you guys what your thoughts are. Should I just go with WP and the plugin/template coding? do you guys know any plugins that might achieve the same result without much hassle? or should I use Buddypress to achieve this?
Thanks in advance
