Your website used to promise that your website wouldn’t break if you stopped paying. It doesn’t say that anymore. Instead it says that the annual license fee includes “1 year of updates and support”. What exactly does this mean?
The FAQ on the bottom of your pricing page reads:
Q: What do updates include?
A: Updates include new and improved features, performance enhancements, security patches, and bug fixes.
What the heck does that actually mean?
Our org’s wordpress site is configured with WP_HTTP_BLOCK_EXTERNAL
to prevent wordpress from being able to initiate queries to the internet (for security). We do all our updates manually.
You have a section on your documentation for “Manually updating,” but it doesn’t say what you need to update.
Of course, the GeneratePress theme is open-source and available on GitHub, SVN, and this website (www.remarpro.com). So I should be able to download updates for the theme itself forever. Is that correct? Or do you use a distinct theme for premium customers?
What about plugins? Is there any plugins that require updating? Is it just one plugin? Several plugins?
If I purchase this theme, I want to fully understand exactly what I’ll be able to update forever and exactly what I won’t be able to update forever (what might break on the site) if we can’t pay to renew our annual license.
Please fully enumerate every file that needs to be downloaded when updating the premium versions of GeneratePress.
