Hi UpdraftPlus Forum,

I’m in a challenging situation after attempting to change my WordPress site’s domain and would greatly appreciate your expertise.

Initiated a domain switch from beachcomberdr.com/admin to lascanasbeachretreat.com.
The admin interface froze mid-process, leading to my closing the browser. Now, any login attempt redirects to the new domain with a security warning.
Logging into my WordPress account with my original email does not show the new domain, just an old, retired site.

To add to my woes, I had sought advice from both WordPress forums and www.remarpro.com, only to be redirected back here with the hope that the UpdraftPlus community might have the answers.

The core of my dilemma lies in my UpdraftPlus backup. I am hesitant to create a new WordPress account to restore my backup because I fear I’ll end up with duplicate subscriptions for both WordPress and Elementor Pro, which could be a needless additional expense.

Is there a way to restore my UpdraftPlus backup without having to create a new account, or to ensure that my current subscriptions will be recognized and not duplicated? Any guidance on how to proceed without risking further complications would be a lifesaver.

Looking forward to any advice you may have.

The plugin has a lot of configuration options. Easy integration with the woo-commerce for accepting one time payments. The good thing is they have subscription module that is not dependent on woo commerce subscriptions that saves annual payments in my case and works great. I had few questions regarding the setup and support response was fast.

Every time I enter my email on a WP blog somewhere on the internet, I get an email from wordpress asking me to confirm if I want to follow.

I want to disable this and go back to the pre-GDPR days where I can just click submit and it will automatically submit the form and I get notifications for new comments/replies.

I also find that all the comments are linked to my WP account when I use the email. I do not ever remember consenting to this. I do not want all my comments linked to a centralised WP server.

What can I do to remove this?

Manage subscription not working

I am facing a problem that already occured and remain unsolved on another site before:

Visitors can subsribe to a list without problems.

When I send a newsletter to the list subscribers can “Unsubscribe” without a problem.

But they cannot “manage their subscription”, or to be precise: they can unsubscribe on that form and submit it, but then they are taken to the start page and their edits to the list are not saved (they are still on the list).

(The same happens to subscribers that are regular users on that site: they can subscribe – without being logging in – but they cannot manage their subscription.

We are using the latest WP version and DIVI theme.

Did anyone have the same problem and knows a solution?

“Groups” post notification

I understand that one can set up post notifications by category.
However, what are “groups”? Are these labels I (admin) assigns to each subscriber? Can a subscriber only be part of one group? Can subscribers manage which groups they are a part of?

My goal is to have several different post notifications for posts created in different categories. I want my users to be able to subscribe to as few or to as many of these post notifications as they would like.

WordPress Not Sending Emails – Email Server or Plugins?

I am at my wits end trying to figure out why my blog emails are not being sent. They were working fine two days ago, and then emails stopped working. I hadn’t made any changes in the meantime. I’m hosted on GoDaddy and they are reporting some queuing problems, but the emails went out at 5:00 a.m. – it’s 3:00 pm and still no show. They now say it must be a WordPress issue and don’t offer any support.

I’m using these plug-ins (see below), but have disabled them and re enabled, with no change. The email logs on the blog say the emails are being sent, but no one is receiving them.

On WordPress.com, I have the ability to subscribe to other blogs and can manage those subscriptions on the site. I wondered if this is possible for my .org site. At the moment I am using Google Reader, but that is a nuisance for me and I would prefer to be able to do it within my site. Is there a plugin for this kind of thing, or is it even possible?
