creating nested galleries

I have 385 photographs to add to a folder.

The photographs are located in yearly folders. Each yearly folder has upwards of 10 subfolders.

What is the best method for creating all the sub-folders?

Drag-and-drop uploads everything, but without the folder structure

Same image shows up multiple times

I like combining galleries to big master galleries.
This is a very nice feature which is defined by the category function and the menu-mode set to “category”

However, if the same image is assigned to more than one of the sub-galleries, it will be shown up multiple times in the display of the parent-gallery.

This can look pretty odd, and the more galleries I combine or re-combine at a later time, it comes nearly impossible to track and avoid all this doubles…

Any chance to improve the algorithm, not to load the same image twice in the same gallery?

The child gallery is not protected when the parent gallery has a password

To whom it may concern,

I’ve created some sub galleries protecting with a password the parent gallery they’re related to.
Unfortunately, I’ve noticed that if you copy the child gallery URL and paste it in the browser, it appears visible without entering the related password.
It is clearly a security issue, the photos collected in the child gallery are not protected and therefore they can be seen by anyone.
So I’m asking you, is there another way to protect sub galleries using only the parent gallery password?

Multiple Sub-Galleries

Greetings.

I’m setting up an art gallery with Portfoliopress. I’ve only been working with it for one day, so there are no doubt so many features I’m not familiar with and this is probably one of them.

Is it possible to set up sub-galleries? I have in mind four. Then, is it possible to set an image on the home page that serves as a visual link to that sub-gallery?

In other words, a visitor to the site sees four images, each a thumbnail that represents the galleries Action, Glamour, Slice-of-Life, and Other. By clicking on the image, he goes to that gallery and views the actual pictures.

How to I add sub-galleries? I would like to create a gallery for our festivals and have each year in it’s own gallery. I already have other galleries and don’t want to make a separate gallery for each festival year. I would rather make a main festtival gallery page that will then open to give each year separately. How do I do this?
