I have searched both in this and in the Laytheme forum, but unfortunately I haven’t been able to solve the problem yet.
I understand that the best procedure to fix the problem is
” 1 -C reate a ‘polylang’ folder in wp-content (or use existing ‘polylang’ folder)
2 -Upload the wpml-config.xml file into the ‘polylang’ folder
3 – In your WordPress admin, go to to Languages > String translations and search for ‘frontpage_select_page’
4 – Replace the existing number in the ID field of the foreign language with the right ID “number
5 – Save the changes`
Regarding point 4: What is the correct ID number for english_uk?
I have tried a few by “copying” other’s solutions but everytime I apply that I obtain a white front page when I switch language.
Thank you very much for your help
]]>My page is set as the homepage, and I have been into settings and selected it as my static front page.
I can see all my content when I’m editing the page, just not when previewing or viewing it published.
Any support would be much appreciated!
Thanks,

I am developing an old website that’s built using the Avion theme. The static front page setting doesn’t seem to do anything. Changing to one of the default themes solves the issue.
Is there anything I could do to make the static front page work in combination with the Avion theme?
]]>I’m using the plugin Content Views to make a grid for my home page, which is a static page. In order to get a sidebar on the static page, I’ve created a Dara child theme with a front-page.php that is identical to Dara’s page.php.
I’d like the boxes in the grid to be larger, perhaps by expanding the content area. However, I don’t want to do it in a way that affects readability on mobile devices, and I don’t want a universal solution that affects all pages.
I’m not proficient in CSS, and would like some help.
Here’s how it looks:

Here’s how I want it to look, approximately:

– Post (single.php) template doesn’t have a responsive design. I had to add responsiveness myself.
– Blog page loads the default page.php
template and not index.php
when a static front page is configured and the blog page has content inside. This only breaks with this theme, I tried a couple of other themes and they do not have problems.
My static front page is not showing in the shop isle theme. I tried some of the solutions in earlier posts here but can not seem to get it working.
Any ideas or a solution?
