Unable to send emails

So I set up my iredmail and roundcube email server using Nginx on CentOs7 following this link https://www.linuxbabe.com/mail-server/centos-7-iredmail-email-server#comment-249008.

Everything works, I am able to send and receive emails to different email servers including gmail using roundcube. I even logged in on thunderbird using STARTTLS and mail.mydomain.com as seen on the images in the link above and everything works.

However, I am unable to send any emails from wordpress using your POST SMTP Mailer plugin with the same settings as thunderbird, and also with none as the authentication.

What is the best way to get it to work in my case?

Hey there, first off i like this plugin. its the first one i found that can really do multisite.

The problem I am having is the text “note TLS is not STARTTLS”. So how do i get starttls? it appears that exchange server 2016 needs it to be starttls.
I had another mail plugin that did work, and it was using starttls from a dropdown. However that plugin was not multisite friendly.

I am going to see if can modify exchange server to do straight TLS. But does the plugin support starttls? if not why not? exchange would be one of the most popular mailservers.

Is there a solution to send Office365 emails with STARTTLS? This was marked resolved in another post but it was NOT resolved, it still does not work. It needs StartTLS. It does not work with SSL or TLS. Does anyone have a solution

Here is my problem:

I recently migrated my wordpress sites from a ten-year old Mac mini to a Raspberry Pi 3. Performance-wise, the Pi is incredibly fast and everything is working fine, except that WordPress can not send emails via my email servers. The connection can not be established.
My email servers use self-signed certificates. On my Mac mini, I was able to accept these certificates outside of Apache and store them in the Keychain.

I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem and if there are any suggestions how I could resolve this.

TLS and STARTTLS request

I’ve said this before, but thanks for creating this. This one plugin is one of the few to actually change the entire landscape of the WordPress world in terms of usability (that was vitally missing until Postman came along).

One request though:

There are some hosts (e.g. Siteground) that will send SMTP over 587 with authentication… BUT they don’t use/recognize STARTTLS, so the only option that works is “No Security/encryption”. But they do support just plain TLS over port 587. So… could Postman have the option to use TLS in addition to STARTTLS? Or did you intentionally decide to not offer that for some well-thought-out reason? If so, no problem, but I wanted to ask as I think it would be a nice option to have. But, if that is a dumb idea for some reason just let me know. I won’t be offended. Thanks for the amazing plugin!
