Does exactly what its meant to do. Lots of features with pro version. Enhances the WordPress Gutenberg editor. The only concern I had when starting to work with it was that, being used to Elementor, I had to find my way to do some stuff. But once you get used to the interface, it’s smooth as a breeze.

If you use Astra and a Starter Template, it’s a very good match.

It’s interesting to note that a lot of the 1* reviews come from just a small number of writers. Draw your own conclusions.

I have been using ASTRA Themes for a number of years to build everything from one page landing to full blown e-commerce and, with the exception of a few ‘bugs’ over that time – which the excellent support has always resolved for me efficiently – I think that it is the best package on the market!

The Starter Templates have been developed to such an extent now that I have all but stopped using coding. A lot of work has gone into the design and functionality, so much so that a complete e-commerce Site can be up and running within a few days.

I’ve moved all of my Sites into ASTRA as it is such a comprehensive, all done for you package.

Half the problems with design and functionality stem from themes with built-in crap you don’t want or need. Blank Slate does away with all that. Of course, I still have to deal with scripts and functions built into the plugins I need for my purposes, but it’s nice to know they’re not coming from the theme. But most importantly, I can create my own design from scratch. Blank Slate is free, but freedom to create my own design is priceless.

Header Overlay – what gives?

Elementor / Astra Pro / Starter Template “Architectural Firm”

I have a site logo that takes on a lightening overlay when the page first loads (shows up off-white/grey rather than black), only showing up in its original black when you scroll down and the menu becomes sticky.

I have checked/toggled every setting imaginable and cannot figure out what is going on here – what is causing the lightening on my logo in the header?

Told BLC Only Needed Starter Plan

Installed BLC Plugin and was prompted to upgrade my membership. I selected Pro and paid $150 for an annual membership as I was planning to install on two primary and two staging sites (WPMU DEC unfortunately counts these as separate sites for licensing purposes). When I tried to use BLC, it told me I had reached the tree site limit as the Pro membership actually has three plans WITHIN that plan and the lowest (Standard) has a three site limit. Confusing! When I contacted support I was told:

be absolute honest with you, you don’t need pro level for using BLC. So, let’s sort this out for you.

She was nice enough to process a refund which I hope to see, but when I cancelled and restarted the membership at the Starter Level, I am prompted by BLC:

So the Plans are not clearly articulated and WPMU DEV support conveys wrong information.

I’m deleting this plugin and resigned that I won’t get the last wo hours of my life back!

Everytime I am making a website I use Starter Templates. They are very versatile. You can also use parts (blocks) to make your website more unique. I love Starter templates.
