I currently have my Divi/Wordpress instance hosted on Amazon AWS/Lightsail.

I have been unable to get consistent SSL functionality and reliability with this host.

Are there hosting services that are made to provide simple compatibility with Really Simple SSL? If so, do you have a list of hosting services you can post?

Hosting provider says Wordfence doesn’t work with their SSL

Hi there,
I’ve been informed by my host that Wordfence was causing problems with the SSL certificate on my website(s). I’ve been instructed to ask Wordfence.
I’m a little baffled, but I’d like to know how to overcome this: I’d like to use the plugin but also need/want SSL to work via my hosting provider.
What is it that I have to do to make the Wordfence plugin work without causing up a stir with my hosting provider’s SSL?

new subsites on multi-site have no admin side css

I’ve seen an issue with a Multisite (subfolder install) where the network settings page (wp-admin/network/admin.php?page=wordpress-https) ‘SSL Host’ entries are not present for new sub-sites after their creation.

add a new sub-site and the front end is fine, however, the admin side has lost its css. After entering the ‘SSL Host’ the css comes back.

Can an admin warning be added after a new site is created to prompt for ‘SSL Host’ to be entered?

Howdy,

I’m using WordPress HTTPS on a site with a regular non-secure host and a custom SSL host (https://secure.domain.com), with Force SSL Administration and Force SSL Exclusively.

This is where my login page is, or should be (I have my WP install in a subdirectory):
https://secure.domain.com/cms/wp-login.php

If I try to access the admin panel via /wp-admin, and I need to log in, I am redirected to the login page using the wrong SSL host (which doesn’t work in our environment – it results in a security warning):
https://domain.com/cms/wp-login.php

All these links forward to the incorrect host:
https://domain.com/wp-admin
https://domain.com/cms/wp-admin
https://secure.domain.com/wp-admin
https://secure.domain.com/cms/wp-admin

If I am already logged in, they forward to the admin panel on the correct SSL host.

Have I set anything up wrong? Thanks for any insight, and apologies for any duplicate posting!

Can "SSL Host" safely contain a path?

Summary: Is it safe to set SSL host to “www.example.org/www.example.com”? It appears to exactly what I want, but it’s identified as “SSL host” not “SSL URL” and I’m a bit worried I’m relying on undefined behavior that may blow up in my face in a future WordPress or WordPress HTTPS update.

My goal:

https://www.example.com/ – Public face of site
https://www.example.org/www.example.com/wp-admin – Administrative work is done here.

This is strange, but for reasons beyond my control I have SSL on www.example.org, but not www.example.com, but I really want www.example.com to be where most users see my site. I can’t put the WordPress install in the root of www.example.org, as www.example.org exists for entirely unrelated purposes.

WordPress HTTPS appears to do what I want. I have this working with a setup of:

SSL Host: www.example.org/www.example.com
Force SSL Administration: Yes
Force SSL Exclusively: Yes

Is this safe? In particular, having put a (partial) URL in “SSL Host”, and I doing something undefined and stuff may break later?

(And if this is undefined, might I plead that support for this use case be added?)

Is the setting SSL Host, the same as putting define( 'SSL_DOMAIN_ALIAS', 'realdomain.maindomain.net' ); in the wp-congif file?

Hello, I am using gravity forms with Authorize.net. Both of them are not in test mode and when I make a transaction on the site, it appears to go through with no error message but there is nothing in the transaction history on Authorize.net. I’m using this plugin but I wonder if I have it configured wrong.

What do I put for SSL Host? Right now I have the url of the website but I’m not sure if that is correct. If so, what is the port number?

Any good breakdown of the options of the plugin would be great. I’ve looked but maybe I’ve missed it?

The plugin asks for the SSL host and port. Where do I find this?
It is for this website: https://mycreditdoc.com

After installing plugin Internet Explorer says:
“Internet Explorer blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors“

Maybe that will go away once I place the proper info into the plugin? If not, do you know how to fix so the message does not show up anymore?
