Can’t add custom snippet variable to meta in Search Appearance

I am able to add a custom field snippet variable to the meta description when I am in an individual post, but I am not able to add the same custom field snippet variables when I try to apply them to Content Types in Search Appearance settings. Why is this?

Category Page not Displaying Meta Description

Hi,

My category pages are not displaying the auto generated meta descriptions.

In Yoast’s settings, I have “excerpt” inserted in the meta description box for all category pages, but these are not showing up when I do view source of the page.

Any reason why this could be happening?

i see you did depriciate the %currentyear% meta because you dont see any use for it

i’ve just noticed 2 bugs that must be there since one of the latest updates:

– when i use the %%page%% tag in my page title or meta description everything works as intended on the front-end. however, in the wordpress admin it also counts which page i’m on: from the second page (wp-admin/edit.php?paged=2) on, the “page x of y” info appears in the page title and meta description columns.

– for 2 of my posts the page title and meta description don’t show at all (anymore) in the admin columns. they appear on the front-end though.

If the topic is paged, yoast doesn’t display page number in bbpress topics, but in setting it’s set to display via %%page%% by default.

Cannot remove space before separator in title tag

I’m trying to obtain this as a page title, using Yoast’s snippet variables:
Page title: Site title

But what I’m getting is:
Page title : Site title

I’ve tried deleting the space between snippet variables in the admin but Yoast automatically inserts it back in after save. I’ve pored through WP files looking for the space in PHP but cannot find it.

Anyone else seen this?
