Paypal IPN issues

We’ve used smartforms & smart donations for about 6 years now and absolutely LOVE the functions and simplicity. We’ve just recently run into an issue where some items aren’t working properly and we find ourselves in need of help.

We have basic info forms online, those are working just fine. We have several donation buttons thru smartdonations and those are working fine. Where we’re running into issues is with the forms that take payments/donations, either thru smartforms or smart donations. These act fine on the customer side, and take them to paypal to process their donation/payment with no issue. But the URL for paypal IPN’s seems to be invalid, so it doesn’t actually process the customer form. The form information isn’t emailed and doesn’t even show up in the database (I’m guessing because it doesn’t see it as a completed form since the IPN didn’t verify?).

We’ve tried resetting the IPN, having paypal remove the IPN url that was the issue to reset it.. all to no avail. Paypal is saying it’s an in app issue. Any help or guidance would be welcome – we don’t want to make our donors unhappy by having to request info (sometimes lengthy) multiple times.

The URL that’s failing ends in /wp-content/plugins/smart-donations/ipn/rednao_paypal_ipn.php in case that’s informative.

Can′t edit forms

Hello,

This is a form to apply for employment, where you can also attach a curriculum vitae.

The form works apparently fine until the end, where we click submit, and it does not continue.

In the WordPress backend, the editing of the forms does not continue from the page where the following message appears:
Loading important stuff, please wait a bit =)

And it never ends, this has been happening to us on different websites for a long time, in the unlimited versions, which affects many of our clients.

It is not about support, it is that it does not work.

Any suggestion?

Entries Missing

Hi Edgar!

Just noticed this and wanted to let you know about it in case it’s not just us having an issue.

We have a TON of forms, and this form is one that we’ve had online and operational for about 4 years with no issue. We’ve had things not go thru before for one reason or another, but we’ve been able to find the submitted info in the ENTRIES area. Since 4/21/21 or 4/22/21 submissions from just one form (that we’ve noticed) haven’t been emailed. And they’re even missing from the Entries section in Smartforms, so we can’t find the info that was submitted.

I just went in and did an email test and THOSE went thru. We didn’t know if this was caused by an update or maybe there was just some odd glitch we’ve run into? Any thoughts or suggestions as to why the info wouldn’t even be in the Entries area? I’m perplexed because so far it’s just one form that was affected and we hadn’t made any changes to the form which was working just fine on 4/19 (we got submissions on 4/19 via email and they’re listed in the entries too).

Responsive development team and first class design are top on my list for this great plugin.

Our client’s dance studio required an ultra quick turn around to add online class registration and permission/waiver forms. Within an hour the plugin was up and running with forms in production for the parents to use.

Since then, we have added a Parent Portal site with automatic user creation from SmartForms. This is a huge win for our client as they adapt their online presence to the current global pandemic.

Form label sub-titles

Is it possible to add sub titles under form labels. For the purpose of giving instructions or information.

So far I’ve added the sub-title in to the form field label but this does not look good.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that SmartForms had a signature box so I did not have to buy an expensive plugin just for that. Support was great!

I have been using SmartForms for many years now. ?Continues to work great!

Parse Error

We use the SmartForms plugin (newest version). It’s been working very well. But today, randomly we are receiving the following error when we click on the SmartForm menu: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /home/content/../……../html/………/wp-content/plugins/smart-forms/main_screens/smart-forms-list.php on line 25

So, instead of seeing a list of our forms, and a button to create new foms, we are seeing that error.

Any idea how it can be resolved?

I purchased the plugin plus the addon ‘SmartForms Pages’.

The pros: very easy to use, a lot of options and functionality (especially if you understand a little JavaScript/PHP), great support (usually answer within a day), the price.

The cons: minor estetical issues in the backend and csv export, documentation not extensive (basics are covered in videos but lack detail for the more advanced options).

The only thing I’m missing in this plugin is the ability to have registered users edit their own entries on the front end of the website. It is possible for admins to edit entries in the backend though. Maybe it is still possible but I just haven’t been able to figure it out yet.

All in all this is a great plugin. Value for money is awesome!
