How can I save the slugs generated, and then deactivate this plugin?
]]>I’m using TranslatePress Multilingual 2.8.7 with DeeplPro API and SEO Pack Add-on.
We recently updated our WordPress and plugins versions and we are facing issues with Slugs translations.
Originally, our website is in French and is translated in two other languages (English and Spanish).
Translations from French to English and Spanish work fine.
But these translations don’t work (404 errors) :
English -> French
English -> Spanish
Spanish -> English
Spanish -> French
The reason is that the slug translation seems to be working only from French to others languages.
Example :
https://www.swikly.com/location-saisonniere/
is properly translated to
https://www.swikly.com/en/vacation-rental/
https://www.swikly.com/es/alquier-de-vacaciones/
But
https://www.swikly.com/en/vacation-rental/
is translated to
https://www.swikly.com/vacation-rental/ (FR) -> 404
https://www.swikly.com/es/vacation-rental/ (ES) -> 404
I have tried to retranslate slugs but it won’t work.
Do you know how we can resolve this issue ?

In the page link I’m sending, you will see that happening with the links right below the event organizer (Organizador) and venue (Lugar). The links should be in the form of /es/venue/ and /es/organizer/ to direct to the correct pages, but since they are getting translated to /es/lugar/ and /es/organizador/ the 404 errors happen.
Other slugs, such as /event/ and /events/, are not being translated, so they work just as intended when viewing the Spanish version. This indicates it’s not a generalized problem with all the slugs in the events plugin, only some of them.
How can I prevent those slugs from being translated?

The slugs are reconized in the the settings of the plugin under “Rewrite Seetings”, but the switcher doesn’t applay the change.
I have the cpt with slug equivalences:
‘fr_FR’ => ‘integrations’,
‘en_US’ => ‘integrations’,
‘de_DE’ => ‘integrationen’,
‘it_IT’ => ‘integrazioni’,
‘pt_PT’ => ‘integracoes’,
‘es_ES’ => ‘integraciones’
The slugs works ok, in all the sites, and the Multisite Language Switcher recognize the slugs in the settings (in the rewrite setting section), but the switcher don’t apply the correct slug for each site.
]]>E.g.: site.com/slug-post get redirected to site.com/slug-post-2, and after a fays days to site.com/slug-post-2-2, and then after a few more days to site.com/slug-post-2-2-2 automatically. This causes an endless loop of ever creating new post slugs for the same post, and for anyone who knows SEO basics, this is a HUGE issue.
I then tried to change manually the Englush slug to the original slug and this caused the post slug now to change from the ‘site.com/slug-post-2-2-2’ structure to ‘site.com/slug-post-3’ instead of changing back to site.com/slug-post
I was trying to find what’s going on with those slugs by reviewing phpMyAdmin, and noticed that this happens because some of the secondary translated languages occupy/replace the original default language slug. For example on the wp_postmeta table the slug wp_postmeta5165_trp_automatically_translated_slug_es_ES replaced the guid of my original post.
I tried to change then the guid of this slug to another so it doesn’t occupy the original post slug, and then changed again the default language slug to its original form, but this still did not resolve this issue since it create just a new numerical sufix. ( ‘site.com/slug-post-4’
Why is this critical bug happening and how can it be resolved immediately? ]]>
What does the PRO feature ‘Translations can share the same slug in the URL’ mean?
Does it mean that, if we have a site in English, for example, https://www.mysite.com/it-solutions/bi-software/ (the slug being bi-software), then, in another language, it can still be bi-software?
E.g.
https://www.mysite.com/th/it-solutions/bi-software/

]]>So I chucked Toolset and tried the “Custom Post Type UI” plugin. Again after 400 permalinks the same happens.
This is extremely annoying as that pop-up does not go away, and hide whatever functions are on the canvas – so work is impossible.
This must then be a WordPress problem – or what else could it be?

i recently made my dev site live (https://dev.dallastorah.org/ –> https://dallastorah.org/). However when on my live site the slugs for my pages are not appearing but when on my dev site the slugs are working… any ideas how to fix this? ]]>
I’m using the business version of TranslatePress.
The site is originally in Dutch.
Force language in custom links is on.
Use a subdirectory for the default language is on.
English is dragged to the top of the “All Languages” list, so international visitors land on the English translation.
When writing a new custom post, in the original Dutch,
I am adding an internal link to the paragraph.
Using the standard “Insert/edit link” WordPress menu, I type part of the post I want to link to, in the original Dutch language, upon which WordPress shows the Dutch post in the dynamic list.
Clicking that Dutch title post however inserts an English (translated slug) link, without the /en/ subdirectory in the url.
This is not the desired behaviour, as the link will now link to the English post from a Dutch page.
When I drag Dutch to the top of the “All languages” list in the TranslatePress settings, I can insert Dutch links (also without /nl/ subdirectory, but they work).
Disabling the “Force language in custom links” does not make a difference, it will still insert English slug links, without subdirectory /en/, into Dutch posts.
Is this a bug? I think it should default to inserting the original language link when writing a new post.
