They have implemented industry-standard code practices as well as minified, optimized code to make the plugin lightweight.

But it does not work. The plugin slows down my site!

Without plugin the score on pagespeed web dev is 99!

And with the plugin activated it drops down to 60 at pagespeed web dev!

The screen becomes slow and heavy after a while

We have been using this plugin as a news ticker at the top of our site for a while. We noticed that when a page from the site remains open in the browser, the page becomes slow and heavy, and the news ticker bar itself also becomes extremely slow to the point where it stops moving. Is there a solution for this?

Activation slows réponse times

My site has been getting progressively slower so I have disabled all plugins and reactivated them individually in an attempt to discover which plugin is causing this and noticed the loading time doubled accoriding to the query monitor plugin which can provide more details if this would be helpful – possibly a configuration issue as nobody else is complaining?

Delayed image (lazy) loading after update / react

After updating to 4.0 and the react my (lazy loaded) images are all very slow when the plugin is active, like a 2 second delay before they all show up.

When deactiving it is normal/fast again.

I tried deactiving caching plugin too but that didn’t seem to help. I hope you have an idea how to do this, or if not if it’s possible to revert to the old version by installing the older plugin version for example.

Slow performance due to Spyc dependency

Hi, when analysing performance of your plugin on my websites, I noticed that the vendor dependency you have on the Spyc code (https://github.com/mustangostang/spyc/) is causing huge performance issues with page load and (php) script executions.

Please have a look on the matter as it impacts user experience very negatively (bad core web vital scores as the page loads are slow)

Exports aren’t working as expected *updated – working now

It’s been over 6 days with barely any response, I’m having a number of issues I need addressed ASAP.

We have some automated exports that are working, we have some that aren’t. We can’t even trigger a manual export, the settings have been duplicated from existing working reports with just a category change so not sure why they aren’t working. It is causing us a lot of grief.

*update – Finally heard back from support after a week, the developer has applied a fix (that did not take long at all). There was a conflict with WooCommerce Product Add-Ons, all seems to be working fine now. Would have been 4 or 5 stars if support was quicker (way longer than quoted 24-48 hours).

Awful. Just plain awful.

I have never used a more frustrating plugin. Basic options are not intuitive. Want to change the text color? Hunt for it, under one of two “Highlight” options.

Want to see the actual plugin options by clicking the Otter Blocks link in the dashboard? Nope, it will never load. There are 5 tabs on that page and not a single one will load, the wheel just spins around and around.

And sloooooow….WP is already pretty inefficient with your time. Otter Blocks really steps that up a notch. Combined with having to hunt for basic features, you won’t get much done in an hour.

Decide you want to remove it because it is awful? No can do, friend, your site is now broken. You’re going to have to repair the entire thing.

This theoretically helped Lighthouse score improve from sluggish loading however in practice it took a page 5 mins to load Gallery Carousel Without JetPack after installing so I deactivated it to speed up page loading again. It did not have Lazy Image Loading in free version.

Avoid if you care about site speed

I had high hopes, but this plugin dramatically slowed down both the backend and the checkout process on my otherwise pretty snappy, optimized site. If you care about site speed and customer experience, I would avoid.
