Stationary Header and HTML Anchors

I am developing a new website and using the Himalayas Theme. It will be a single page site for now. On the main page, I have defined several HTML Anchors which users when the click on a menu choice, it will bring them to the corresponding section on the page.

The problem is that when I click on the menu choice, it scrolls down to the correct area, but the beginning of the area is hidden under the menu and cannot be seen. This would be very confusing the user and would not work. IS there a way I can offset the scrolling so the the section appears right under the header menu and does not scroll under it?

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Theme shopping: mimicking one-page sites on each page

I am looking for a theme or plugin that would allow me–just through the WordPress UI and no coding–to mimic single page sites on each page, with alternating background colors, etc. for each anchor-linked sub-section. All pages would have the main menu and then each page would have a “mini-menu” linking to anchor-linked sub-sections. Can anyone point me in the right direction on where I might look for such a theme?

[Theme: Borderland] Home Page Won't Load Correctly

I have designed a single-page site using the BORDERLAND THEME.

Problem:
When using any browser on either PC or Mac, and after I have cleared history and emptied the cache, when going to https://spiffest.org, the homepage will default to the middle of the page where the PRESS section appears. To see the top of the page, users will have to scroll up.

Also, the ABOUT nav link is highlighted. If I click on HOME, even after clearing the cache and history again, it will reload the same way— to the ABOUT section with the ABOUT nav link highlighted.

Please help! I would like the site to not do this and just load to start at the tops so visitors can start there.

First of all thanks for a great plugin, I’ve used it on a couple of projects and love it.

I have a single-page site and want to display the share links in the footer.
I put add_filter('dvkss_display', '__return_true'); in functions.php and added dvk_social_sharing(); to the footer template, but am not seeing anything generated.

If you visit my site, you see I have an accordian style navigation menu. I have wordpress already integrated into the blog category.

I’d like to have the content under Other tabs(welcome, goods, about, contact) editable in WordPress as well. I thought this was done using pages, but I am at a loss for whatever code needs to be added into my current index.php to accomplish this.

Liveblog’s a great plugin, thank you! We have a single-page WordPress site that loads individual posts by ajax using a modified version of pjax and then slides them into view. So the document.ready event doesn’t fire when our users browse between posts. This means that when Liveblog is enabled on a post we have to do a programmatic page reload to get it rendered. This doesn’t make for a very good experience. It would be great if there was a method to initialise Liveblog that we could call when our page is ready. Sites like ours are going to become more common, so it’s a feature that people would find useful in future.

Is WP overkill for a single-page site?

I need to develop a single-page site for a client. I normally use WP as a CMS for small business websites. This client would like to be able to update content. And I like using plugins such as Contact Form 7. Would WP be overkill for a single-page site, though?

Real Newbie here. I want to test affiliate marketing with single page site. Can I do this with WP? Also where/which folder would I upload a single squeeze page to? Would I create a folder (i.e. myOnePage) in “public_html” and upload my squeeze there? Any pointers appreciated.
